I think its because its easier to 2hand but don't quote me on that lol

1) While on torrent, you can only two-hand the left weapon for the strength bonus (unless it's two-handed before you mount). 2) Mimic tear tends to prefer the right-hand weapon so it's less dangerous if you only have a left-hand weapon. Not sure if there are other reasons.
