I didn't know how twitter affected my mental health till I decided to deactivate. I realized that it took my ability to think for myself. That retweet button was my pit....I could say alot but I relate
@tshegofatso_y3 жыл бұрын
Girl!!! I feel this. So I deactivated my Twitter almost 8 years ago, but my hubby didn’t, and his timeline is mostly retweets, so I often pick up subtle hints of recycled mentality from him, courtesy of Twitter, during conversations. (I sometimes go through his TL.) People don’t get how damaging this is.
@KotinChronicles3 жыл бұрын
Siiiiiiiissssss!!! I stayed on there way longer than I needed but deactivating was the best decision I made for not only my mental health but my faith too. I find Twitter so draining and it wasn't until I was honest with myself could I see just how bad it was for me overall. It has it's people but that ain't me.

@@KotinChronicles OMG I almost went too deep into "manifesting 🕯"...yhoo I don't wanna sound controversial but people need to be alert and not just follow trends. I know my faith and spiritual health got terribly disturbed

By far the best video that you guys have made. We cannot have enough of these candid conversations on mental health and reassuring people that they are not alone in their struggles. Thank you for this

I suffer from depression. Was diagnosed with a really bad anxiety disorder and those red flags that you are talking about Stephanie... I shut down. Completely. Way too often. I also try to raise awareness about this in my own way and that's why I truly love that you talked about this. ❤️

Thank you so much for making this video. The conversations is so needed. Especially in these times. I'm a mental health practitioner and specialize in children and youth. Due to the stigma around counseling/therapy it's a challenge to assist those who need it most. As a believer in the Triune God I often hear that challenging thought from others as well, the wrong perception is to just pray and all will be well. We have the tools and resources to follow wise counsel (not just any counsel). Prayer is definitely one of these tools but counseling/therapy is another helpful tool.

Hi guys. I only followed you recently. This conversation touched my nerve. I decided to resign from the job that was draining me mentally , physically n emotionally. Yeah I hear you .. I haven't been on Facebook for months I don't know if and when I'm going back there. I'm 29 years old, married and have two kids while being unemployed. I'm nowhere near in life where I actually want to be. Having to see friends former classmates etc how they succeed and what they have accomplished in life makes me feel like a failure especially to my kids they are 7 & 3 and they ask questions. Its hard its really hard

My work environment is the one affecting my mental health not social media. I have to come to work everyday and there is no taking a break from it, unless I quit of course. Every week I try to keep a positive attitude, something always happens and gives me more reason to quit. I have contacted an organisation and they helped me to go for free therapy nearby.

I agree with being lazy and using tech the way we should... I found out there's help near my doorstep from a friend and I was shook. Thank you Ndlovus for this one. We owe it to ourselves to pick ourselves up and out. Also, refer someone close to you, you can see isn't coping. Make caring your business.

Always a necessary conversation to have. It is important to always be fully conscious (be active about checking up on yourself) of the state of our mental health- good and bad- it is important to be submerged in the "thorn in our flesh " and understand that it's not necessarily a detrimental thing. Also therapy is great. If you find time, have conversations with self (that's probably the best thing you can do for yourself).
