As we work to service our Pull Rite Super Glide hitch, we discovered that we had been doing it wrong the whole time!

We love our SuperGlide hitch. We’re in our sixth camping year with it. Only pain is that restricted 10 degree variable when hooking back up-but that’s been rare. These campgrounds on the east coast can be a bit whacky sometimes 😂 The other advice I have is if you ever need someone else to tow it-and they have a regular hitch-take the adaptor plate off the king pin. It will wreck their hitch.

I’ve ran into the ten degree issue too! It’s not fun but it’s manageable with patience. We’ve yet to tackle the east coast but we definitely plan to do it’s good to know the hitch will handle it!

IMO you’re overdoing it with the WD40. Owners manual recommends top and inside of tubes, no mention of spraying top of hitch plate, I’ve towed 2 years with this hitch and love it, I also agree that you should adjust your slider it appears to be too loose, which will cause chucking. FYI, I’ve had to go past the 10 degree point when parking our fifth wheel and was able to disconnect by removing the hitch plate from the hitch. We full time and have had no issues with our PullRite. BTW, love the MKS you have. Great floor plan.

Nice! I probably overkill the WD 40. I did have a rep from PullRite recommend lubing the plate as well. It seems to hitch up easy and it sure beats the messy grease I was using. We love this hitch!

You guys have great taste in rvs and hitches we have the same set up. But as far as your hitch is concerned you may want to look at owner’s manual again. You should not be able to move the hitch that easy. The bolt that goes through the hitch should be tighter and that’s the only thing that needs grease. when ITried to hook up and I was not dead on the hitch would move making it very difficult to hook up. Not sure you have that problem but if you do, that’s why.

I agree. There is a bolt in the back that should be adjusted so that the head doesn’t slide so easily out of "straight". I cringed when I saw all the grease last week. 😮

Hey Cody. We also have a Superglide hitch. I use a graphite product called SlipPlate. I use it on the way tubes as well. Been using it for over 12 years now. Works great.

Great tip video. Don't have a slider myself so we use a disc. WD40 and some dry lithium grease is all I use on my 20K Pullrite.

Good video 😊 just saying short bed trucks should not be used with fifth wheels that's why have type of hitch been around for years long beds tow better the weight sits over the rear axles better ride and your hitch is complicated but you like what you like 🤔😀 safe travels

Oh the owners manual….so much information! Read it first before it falls off. One other step, use a locking pin for the handle. Stops it from popping up and disconnecting from your trailer. Know this from experience, not a cheap repair

Best thing I did was switch over to a Reese Goosebox when we bought our Momentum. We’re retired and do trips ranging from a weekend getaway to 3 months or so. It’s nice not having a hitch in the bed when we’re home.

Not sure how soon you will see my question, but I just ordered a Pullrite superglide hitch 2714 for my 2022 F350. So do the bars that are attached to the bottom of the hitch come with the hitch or did you need to purchase them separately? They are the ones that make it fit in the oe puc system. If they did come with the hitch, did you have to attach them or were they preattached. TIA

That's a good question! We bought ours at the dealership and had them install it, so I never saw it in person, but now I'm curious. I guess I assumed that it did, but I shouldn't. It is amazing that they don't have that information online. I looked as well and I'm baffled! I know they have a customer service option on the website, but I put out a few feelers as well, to see if I can get this answer. Maybe between us, we can find it.

We spoke with PullRite and I do have an answer, but it is a loaded one. Ours was an OEM hitch and it was all one part and one part number. However, there are adapters that you may need, depending on your specific setup. We understand that it could be something really small and look very similar, so I hesitate to give you a definitive answer. I must admit that this is the first video I have seen on 5th wheel hitch maintenance. I have a Hensley Trailer Saver 5th wheel hitch and I think I need to do some maintenance tomorrow. We also have a Gen-Y Executive pin box/kingpin. We are moving just up the road today or I would do it today. I think it is time to take another look at my owners manual. I do use the silicon plate and it actually works great, then again, we have a long bed dually F-350! Thanks for the pro tips!
