Not really. He was suprised that "an animal" dug out burried guts / skin, which in fact happens rarely, as as earth blocks smells well. However what did not make sense in his statement is that he was suprosed that something took the leftovers from near of the remains of the fire. Animals can really get desperate or sick, and when they are hungry they are taking risks they normaly would not so yes, something could take. Not to mention bears, especially near trails, where they are accustomed to humans and come much, much closer.

Amanda Lyons I’m super jealous! I have always wanted to go to Ireland! My great grandparents are from Ireland (they left Ireland and came to America in 1927 after they just got married). Sadly I never got the chance to ask them what it was like in Ireland because they both died when I was about 6 years old. A very large number of Irish and Scottish immigrants settled here in the mountains of North Carolina. We have our own version of The Highland games in a small little town called Little Switzerland! Also, if you want to see how gorgeous it is here in the mountains of North Carolina you should google “Cherokee North Carolina aka the land of 1000 waterfalls”...the forest and mountains are so majestic and beautiful! And you will find countless numbers of small creeks and tributaries that all have waterfalls and small pools of that crisp cool mountain water 💧

@nadiadelphi68504 жыл бұрын
Amanda Lyons You most definitely should visit North Carolina at least once! We have a lot to offer because we have very remote outer banks on the Atlantic Coast which is basically a very long 2 lane highway that take you to every single little island and through The Great Dismal Swamp which is absolutely amazing to see!!! and you cross over the Albamarle sound where there are actual wild horses that have never been tamed or owned, along with the one and only place in the whole world where you can find Red wolves!!! They are on a little peninsula/Island on the northern coast of the state. The Red wolf was pretty much hunted to extinction by the early 1900s and only that small little colony of about 40 wolves survived. You can see them in zoos and wildlife parks, but you will not see a Red wolf in the wild any other place! But I think the mountains are what really makes North Carolina so gorgeous. We have Mount Mitchell, which is the tallest mountain in the Eastern part of USA! We have the iconic Appalachian Mountain range and we have the most beautiful section of the Appalachians because of the high elevations and rocky/craggy ridges that make the peaks look jagged like broken glass. We have 2 smaller mountain ranges, The Great Smoky Mountains and The Blue Ridge Mountains that branch off from the Appalachians. The Blue Ridge Mountains are truly one the most gorgeous places you could ever see. When it gets cloudy or rains it somehow makes the Mountains look Blue ...not even kidding!!! Beautiful Blue mountains as far as the eye can see and most definitely worth the time to see them!!! I know that was way too long and drawn out, but I really do love my state and try to share it’s beauty and it’s history to anyone I can!!! North Carolina is a very special place that has gorgeous remote beach islands with sand dunes that go on forever, and then we’ve got the mountains that are really majestic and peaceful!

ESPECIALLY hunting it with a fucking .30-06, as someone said earlier in the comments "It's like killing ants with a cannon". A true outdoors man would look up the rabbit trails and set snares if you were desperate. That rifle should be for self defence only or getting something bigger than a fucking rabbit. I’ve seen something like this outside my house. I don’t live in Tennessee but our backyard is a big conservation forest that I’ve never gone in due to fear of the unknown. One night I took out the garbage by the side of my house near the forest and saw a creature very much resembling the creature in this story. We both froze and I slowly moved towards the can(near the creature) to throw the bag away, yes I did that I know I’m stupid. When I got closer I saw it move a little and with fear opowering me I tossed the bag without checking to see if it landed in the can and ran as fast as I could back to get into my house. I heard quick footsteps behind me but closed and locked the door in time. Anyone have anything similar? I’m still afraid of what lurks in the forest, waiting....

Sounds like he came face to face with skin walkers! I actually have a hunting story where I came face to face with one w my dad! We thought skinwalkers were a myth! We were WRONG!!!

After listening to this, only thing that got me is that he was lugging around a .30-06, and hunting rabbit. And he kept food in the campsite near him.

This is actually a p good story, but it’s painfully obvious the author has never spent any extended period of time in the woods

"And it hated me." 18:20 (or around there). Well, few theories. A: It's just malicious like most monsters in these stories. B: It doesn't like you hogging the rabbits to yourself. C: It's a protector of the woods and it knows what Humans do to this place. This is what I'm thinking so far, but nine times out of ten, it's A.

It would be nice for more female-lead stories. I binge creepypasta and horror story narrations, and It gets hard not to notice after awhile. Amazing work as always!

So unlike most other stories of Wendigo, this one is actually vulnerable to harm. Interesting.
