A YOUNG WOMAN has taken up free-diving - despite losing both her arms and a leg in a tragic electrocution accident at just five years old. Victoria Salcedo, 23, from Guayaquil in Ecuador, was playing in her home when she accidentally touched a high voltage wire with a metal stick. The accident happened on November 11, 2001 and caused third degree burns so severe that both her arms and one leg had to be amputated. Victoria was so young she doesn’t remember her life before the accident. Growing up with only one leg and no arms, Victoria had to re-learn every basic task. @@asosyalpicimamk did you even watch the video? she was clearly trying her best to be as independent as possible, sure, there must be some tasks that she still can't do by herself but at least she's not just moping around about her disability or lying on the bed 24/7 depending on other people to keep her alive. she can actually do most of the stuff in the daily life by herself and when something seemed impossible, she only looked at it as a challenge to overcome with some practice. that's where her personality and mental strength really helped her. if not, i'm sure she would be depressed and suicidal most of the time seeing other people doing what she used to be able to do before the tragedy happened. please change that mindset of yours that thinks people with complete body parts are always better than the disabled.

She's got amazing balance, and being ambulatory and doing every type of self-care involves one limb out of four. Losing them at such a young age allowed her brain and muscles to adapt while still growing. But that's a lot of stress to put on one limb for a lifetime, so this may change when she's older and less limber. I wonder if her prosthetic limbs felt uncomfortable or awkward?

@@pennypay1 well, with three limbs less, she weighs a lot less, so its not as heavy for her leg as it would be for us. Guessing her center of gravity is lower as well. Most of the time i was more like: damn, shes cute
