I was going to show you something really cool in the Lightning . . . but I SUCK

The Lightning F.6 in War Thunder has a particular strength and play style that I like to take advantage of. In this video I tried so hard to show that, but sadly, the matchmaking and my lack of skill prevented me from doing so. Instead, it's mostly just me flying around and being a bit rubbish.

War Thunder, it's almost fun! It feels like the matchmaking is designed to frustrate you at times, only facing highly manoeuvrable fighters while in an interceptor or getting a map with no bases when you switch to a strategic bomber. Finishing up research on the Javelin, just a matter of time before I join you in seeing nothing go my way in a Lightning!

Haha! I was trying to do something a little serious, but the matches just weren't going my way. The irony, was that later, after i'd done this video, i got the perfect kill using the method i wanted to show . . . .

The EEL in WT is half the plane it should be. Many people consider the EEL as an "Interceptor" due to it's role in the RAF but it was designed as a "Fighter" and it's handling qualities were far better than the Hunter F9 and it did not bleed speed like a delta but could turn like one due to it's unique wing design. The single inlet feeding two stacked Avro engines meant that the EEL has 50% less frag than Phantoms and twice the power of Mig 21's. The aircraft was so stable that the RAF pilots in Akrotiri used to practice shooting the metal buckles that attached the towed target as they deemed it certified the kill quicker, thus saving fuel and time and earning a crate of beer in the officers mess. The practice was stopped when one F6 ingested the debris and wrote off the aircraft. The F6 climb rate was 50,000 feet per min and it was faster and quicker than an F15. The F53 version was capable of Mach 3
