You have a lot of cells, and those cells have membrane bound organelles and nuclei, which rules out Archaea and Bacteria right away. Fish are also animals. What are the types of fish? Well, you have start with the rest of their taxonomy first. All fish are: Domain- Eukarya Kingdom- Animalia Phylum- Chordata Subphylum- Vertebrata Now we hit a split. Some vertebrates have jaws, and others don't. Jawless fish such as lamprey and hagfish are in the Infraphylum- Agnatha. They then split into their own individual Class, Order, Family, Genus and Species from there. The other branch is vertebrates with jaws. These are in the Infraphylum- Gnathostomata. From Gnathostomata, there is another split. You have the Class- Chondrichthyes, which are cartilaginous fish such as sharks, rays, skates, sawfish, and chimaeras, which all then split into their own individual Order, Family, Genus and Species' from there. You also have the Superclass- Osteichthyes, which are bony fish. Within Osteichthyes, you have a split into two more Classes. Class- Actinopterygians, ray finned fish which are most fish today you'll think of, and Class- Sarcopterygians, lobe finned fish. An example of ray finned fish is clownfish, and an example of lobe finned fish is lungfish. Each of these then split into their own individual Order, Family, Genus and Species' from there.

Even more interesting is that tetrapods, which are all land four limbed animals, are also Sarcopterygians just on how taxonomy works. Our ancestor, Tiktaalic, was a Sarcopterygian fish. The ancestor of every stork, horse, python, turtle, frog, hampster, dolphin and human alive today. Reptiles(including birds), amphibians, and mammals. All tetrapods are part of the Clade Sarcopterygii. Clade? Wasn't it a Class? Yes! It is both. How? A clade is a group of organisms that includes a single ancestor and all of its descendants. Clades represent unbroken lines of evolutionary descent. So, while Sarcopterygii is a Class, tetrapods fall under the Clade of Sarcopterygii. Isn't taxonomy complicate- I mean fun! Isn't it fun?
