I'm Molly, a typical sushi, makeup, and fashion loving millennial girl who just so happens to be blind! I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕

The fact that Trevor came to the green room to learn how to guide you and that they allowed time to walk the stage before hand shows how awesome the daily show is.

As far as I know, it's normal that the host greets the guests in person before the show. But I agree, Trevor Noah always struck me as a decent guy who tries to makes his guests feel welcome.

As a blind woman myself. I'm so used to dressing to blend in with the background... to not stand out, to not draw more attention to myself when I already feel like I stick out like a sore thumb in public. Watching Molly makes me remember that I don't need to hide away and blend in. I deserve to be in the spotlight as much as anyone else. I'm tired of making myself uncomfortable and lesser than everyone around me so that THEY aren't uncomfortable in my presence. Molly helps me to realise that I deserve a seat at the table too. Thank you Molly.

Saw the interview and I must say you did amazingly well. Yeah, blind girl moments here and there but doh! you are a blind girl! Having the moments without living the stereotype is what the world needs to see! We are so conditioned into masking being blind it's honestly depressing, so let the world see the moments in-between all of the just being a person like everyone else!

Unless she was doing the blind girl moments on purpose so people wouldn't suspect! lol I'm fully kidding. Molly is blind and people who think otherwise are indeed idiots. I wanted to say I'm enjoying this behind the scenes more than the actual interview, partly because we become more aware of the social issues you're trying to impart, and partly because we see how you have to adapt to new environments. But your stylist is the most impressive, especially if she found those gloves and they aren't even the same brand as the dress!

Molly I just saw this, and thanks for explaining that unqualified "service dogs* are a major problem and that it's giving us a bad name. My name is Shawnna, and got my first mobility service dog 4 years ago. I've had a few access issues, because of fakes . One in particular, saying that I can come in , but only if I tie him up outside first. Needless to say, I asked if I could talk to the manager. ... That was a month after getting him, but I've gotten a lot more than that. Anyway, you were great and you looked beautiful! You're a wonderful person and representation of the disability community!!!

I relate to a part of what you said about being interviewed seated vs. walking in. A lot of people that know me online see photos of me on IG and whatnot, but I'm physically disabled w/ a condition that affects my mobility and coordination. The visibility of my disability is something that can't be grasped by writing about it, or talking about it, or photographing it. I recently had to make a video for a project I'm working on, and there's footage of me walking, and gosh! It is such a source of vulnerability for me, but it is also important. Mm yeah, I just wanted to share. I haven't finished watching the video yet so I can't comment much further lol

You story really touched me Molly. I have a 27 year old brother who’s also visually impaired. I started teaching him how to play a musical keyboard at a tender age of 9 years and the challenges are “Yes” there’s still a section of people in today’s society who’s attitude towards blind people are explicitly discriminatory and i think mandatory education in schools and institutions can play a pivotal role in creating awareness about people from all walks of lives, particularly those with disabilities and that they also need to be treated with dignity and accorded the same opportunities that other people have.

Molly you KILLED IT! You did a great job showing off exactly who you are, I would be so proud if I were you. When you were talking about being nervous I imagined how I would feel walking out in front of an audience and cameras and I totally would not be able to do it, lol. Even though you had a couple small blind girl moments, they are so important to remind people of the reality of what it's like for you to not be able to see when someone is, for example, trying to shake your hand. Also, your story about face touching made me laugh out loud.

This is just so badass!!! I felt so emotional as you talked about finally doing it, when you grew up unsure if it was even possible. As a longtime follower of yours I am just so proud of you and so happy to see you thriving and living your dreams every day! 💕

This interview was superb. You slayed it as you said. I was actually emotional for you seeing how freely the dialogue and conversation was and it had me thinking like if only more conversations could be like this. Too many interviews and people in general focus on what has been lost by being disabled and not what has been gained or more importantly what currently matters to us as people and a wider community. You did us all proud by going out there and educating Trevor and the audience about disability and obviously blind folk. Its with unified effort that together we are gonna make the change we long we for. Your one of the leaders of that change molly.

Congratulations on the amazing interview! I’ll admit, when they called your name and you confidently walked on stage, it brought tears to my eyes! As someone who also has RP, I know how much courage it takes to walk into a space like that when you can’t see. But you killed it, and that is very inspiring.

I am IN LOVEEE with this DRESS & GLOVES, those HEELS, hair, and makeup look! Most of all I am sooooooooo proud to see the interview! It is so needed and I completely agree about having sighted guide. I can't think of ever seeing that before on TV so I'm so happy it is now!

I commented on the original video but I had to do it here as well. This was heartwarming and eye-opening, no pun intended, for my friends/family (with disabilities or as we like to say loveabilities) and myself (who is non-disabled)! My friend and cousin aren't blind but one is autistic and the other one has muscular dystrophy which made him wheelchair bound eventually. I have videos from my bday parties of him, my family member with muscular dystrophy, running around and playing soccer with me but now he barely has mobility from neck down so thank you for this and starting the conversation about disabilities (loveabilities) on national television. Much love!

So I already saw the interview portion and didn’t think too much when I saw this video, I was just like cool behind the scenes content. But as a disabled woman listening to you talk about representation in the context of the interview and it being such a mainstream platform, made me tear up! I wasn’t expecting that! But being mobility impaired and hearing you really highlight that during your near death scary experience video recently and now here just hit me in the feels. I lived on the 4th floor of an apartment building with my ex and my son, who was 7-8 when we moved in. They didn’t warn us about the siren sound when a fire alarm or whatever would go off. The first time it happened it was late at night and my ex was home. It scared the shit out of us but he was there and went to check things out to see if we needed to evacuate. It happened several more times when he wasn’t home, mostly during the day when my son was also in school, but it was that experience that made me realize how vulnerable I was in that situation. At the time I was 2 years into my new disability (I’ve been dealing with chronic pain since I was 15, but this new condition has left me fully disabled) I realized if my ex wasn’t home and I was home alone with my son I couldn’t get out down 4 flights of stairs. I cried one day when this realization hit, because it also meant that when I’m out if any emergency situation happened, like a shooting, that I would just get in the way and wouldn’t be able to save myself let alone my son or anyone else. I told my ex at the time, in that situation that he was to take my son (not his) and run and get himself and my son to safety period. I had to teach my son that if something happened in our building that he was to go down the emergency stairs, that ironically enough were right next to our apartment, and to look for our apartment manager or a mommy and to tell them that his mommy is disabled and stuck up in 401 and that I told him to find a mommy and to stay with them until I could reunite with him, under other circumstances to try to reach his grandmother and aunt, who at the time lived right down the street. It was and still is a very terrifying notion, being disabled in an emergency situation. So thank you for highlighting that and for doing this interview and making it about representation and why it’s important to you. You could’ve chosen to talk to about anything, it was your interview and your time, the fact that you put your community and the disabled community first really means a lot. 💜

I literally can’t express how much I LOVE YOU. I’ve looked up to you for so many years. I have an account on TikTok where I spread awareness on learning disabilities because I have dyslexia and dyscalculia and barely anyone talks about them. Although we have different disabilities I relate to many things that you say. You will forever inspire me and I hope one day I get to meet you in real life. All love, Jacquelyn 💕

Omg I've never seen someone else talk about or say they have dyscalculia! I only found out I have this about 4 months ago and it makes so much sense but I had never heard about it before! I have a couple other chronic illnesses and advocates strongly for those but thank you talking about this one in particular! It's so missed in society and could help so many people, children especially, with more representation!

I did not have time to watch the full video, so I skipped to where you and your mom were watching it back: I got chills seeing you doing the interview and hearing your mom being so proud of you. Support and family help so many get so far, and it's evident that you have a strong network around you despite your social abandoment in your youth. So happy for you, your channel, your family and whats to come!
