A company that does pay their employees far more than the minimum (at least double would be good) is far more impressive than one that pays their president outlandishly. For example, if living wage is 35k jpy per month (420k jpy annual) and they pay their entry level employees 50k jpy per month (600k jpy annual), that would be impressive. But a company paying 3m jpy per month (36m jyp annual) to their president, not impressive. And a company paying entry employees 50k jpy per month and the president 3m jpy per month, would be impressive. Still a little sad that the ones doing the real work of the business are under valued compared to the guy doing... who does some paper work. Again, with the guy in the story being a good guy and regularly helping on the actual job, maybe he won't waste money buying things they don't need. ( Pokes his boss for installing automation that can easily be replaced by two people with only 2 months of training... at the cost of what would hire 100 people for a year. Yeah, the automation was that bad... and they still insist on trying to make it work. It's like trying to keep a vehicle on the road and spending enough on repairs to have purchased 3 new vehicles.)
