Those boys are damaged from what they went through with mum, she needs to apologise and take it from there. They deserve at least that much from her. He stepped up when he needed to, and tried from the beginning. It’s her responsibility to chase them the same way he did all those years. Right now they don’t see her playing that mother role so I agree that she shouldn’t see them yet until she is accountable and mentally well.

Interesting watch however I have my reservations. The signs were there before they had the second child. For example he was returning from work to do chores etc. clearly the house was a mess and those were the signs that her mental health was deteriorating. However he left but then returned, gave her a second child and left again. And this time his reason was ‘the love isn’t there. Did you not know this before giving her a second child even though she couldn’t keep up with the responsibilities of having your first child? In my belief he contributed to her poor mental health as she was already finding it difficult to manage with the first child. Personally, I think he is an opportunist who was looking for somewhere to stay but when shit hit the fan and became unbearable he left, leaving her to pick the pieces of raising two children. Unfortunately, she was unable to manage. Word of advice- treat people better especially the mother of your kids as it has a huge impact on how they raise and care for your child . She is not a robot, or solely a mother, she is also someone with feelings I don’t excuse the abuse however I do believe if he had provided more support instead of just leaving the relationship, things may have been better and she may not have struggled as much .

After hearing this I respect the honesty the truth and women's accountability aswell also you are teaching your sons the basic morals and the rest should follow suit. He has been through the trenches but is still here thats for a good reason God bless you bro let all men stay strong.

@23:49 : If the resident parent breaches the court order mandem need to make an additional application called a "committal order" .. basically the family court has no powers to enforce a breach of the orders.. and by making that application enables them to do so... I had to do that in my case because the mother wouldn't turn up to court and was not allowing access... When she did turn up and I got the judgement I needed, I withdrew the order. "If the court finds the defendant in contempt of court, the court may impose a period of imprisonment (an order of committal), a fine, confiscation of assets or other punishment permitted under the law." #SeriousTings

Great outcome and sounds like a great father, I just hope he doesn’t end up just like her and stops the kids from seeing their mother and play the same game that she played before. I hope he tries to help the mother and sons mend their relationship as I’m sure in the future the boys will appreciate their father’s action. Best of luck.

Mum’s clearly not well. In terms of gratitude, is that because you’ve got the kids?!?! Wasn’t sure. Please get the boys counselling, also when it’s time you can increase the time she has on the phone with them because those boy would need their mum one day. I guess your job is to help mum as much as possible for the boys if you can because there’s a bigger picture here for the future and emotional future of the boys. Good luck.

It's not his job to help the mother that's the job for the system and her family to do. His job is to protect and provide for the children

@@jayo3074 it’s not his job, sometimes you have to beyond now and later on in the future for the boys. Whatever help offered is for the boys ultimately. As unfair as it is, some boys will ask, how else did you help mum?!? Seen many cases like this, even though the kids know what happened! It’s a question that no doubt will be asked?!? Whilst they are under 18.

Principles of Time • A child cherishes a parents presence above all else. • You have a very short time in which to be the major influence on your children's lives. • Little Time = Little Influence • You can't buy back lost time. • The world, deadlines, contracts and so forth will always be there - your children won't. • You can never spend too much time with your family. • The thief in homes today is over activity. • Whatever intimacy parents and teens enjoy is almost always cultivated before the age of 12 - rarely after it. • Out of quantity time come the quality moments. • If you make time with children when they're young, there will be opportunities and even requests from them when they are older. • Before you say NO …Pause and think "Why Not?" - Then Decide Yes or No. • There really comes such a time

All these comments about ‘ you should really let mum see the kids, your spiteful’ bla bla bla clearly have no experience of protecting the children from someone who does not take accountability. It’s more damaging for the kids mental health to be forced to have contact with someone like that than it is to protect them from it. For context I’m a step mum who had to continuously pick up the pieces of a child whose biological mother takes zero accountability of her actions. Contact has decreased because he’s stop trying. He’s in a better headspace now he hardly speaks with her. So unless you have experience… you cannot comment on ‘kids will need their mums’

Mum clearly has mental health issues bro. I need to keep it 💯 if this was the other way round we’d all advocate for the man. Mum has done madness YES!! But let’s not do what women do to us on a consistent basis. This time the court system got it right and handed you the power and care of the kids.

Agree with you. It's a very sad story. This guy is a good father, I'm sure he'll do his best and do what he thinks is right for the kids. Good, healthy contact should be promoted with both parents, unless it's unsafe or causing the kids harm. They'll be affected by childhood loss of either parent through their whole lives, not just in their childhood. Even if they try and fix the relationship themselves when they're old enough, they'll never be the same bond that there should have been.

Let the boys see their mum pls. Why can’t you or your mums supervise it? A resident parent has a duty to support the non resident parents relationship with the kids, it’s part of a child’s needs so don’t pay yourself on the back less you’re fulfilling that need kyle

@@bamz9067 based on the legislation. It is a child right to have a relationship with their birth parents which parliament have agreed should be included in a child’s need. So if you’re meeting your child’s needs well you’re facilitation contact, some type of contact.. I mean this goes for men and women!

Can really tell he is spiteful by limiting the children’s ft calls…should be everyday no matter what. Especially if he knows she is mentally ill and is not her actual character, taking advantage of a vulnerable situation to have a one up. He should be supporting the bond between his children and their mum not ruining it. And interesting he managed to get a council house so fast, what was his living situation prior to that and quit work too…think there’s more benefits for him isolating the mum.
