I haven't learn how to use my Insta one R with 360 mod correctly yet, but seems this is the best option. You just push record button (with properly mounted selfie stick) and you can reframe in post however you want. It also allows crazy angles and if you selfie stick is long enough drone like shots. Possibilities are endless with 360 mod. Although for you - 60p is missing in 5.3k mode, so you have to lower quality to 4k (which is really 2k, cause 4k is stitched from 2 sensors). You have to push 360 footage through their app anyway (for reframing), so stabilization will be added - and Flowstate stabilization seems amazing (although there are some corks). I find 4k mode useless in my Twin edition, especially that to switch them you have to reassemble whole thing. And 1inch mode seems to be created for filming everything else than vlogs :). I'm surprised that you tested this so late ..

The Insta360 Go2 does require post processing to get the best level of stabilisation via Pro Mode. I tested it for Master Laing. You can use the app or the desktop studio app to process the video files. I asked Insta if they could get a wireless mic to work with it....let’s wait and see!

I have my 1" - ladies ;) - in a cage with an ND filter and a +2 diopter so the main subject (me) is tac sharp, and even creates a little bit of false toneh. it's a fiddly work around, but it does blow the other action cams out of the water - especially when shooting with log. You don't have to render the files if you shoot in mp4 format. Insv just gives you more flexibility in post 👍 Also, the preamp levels in the current firmware are way too hot for a powered mic, and now make the audio unclear. The previous firmware had much better audio - I have been in contact with Insta360 about the issue, and they will 'look into it' apparently 🙄 The 360 cam is a fun mod too. You can swipe the screen to move the view around.

For the one r : does the audio finally work? When I tested it it was extremely silent with the correct adapter and a rode videomicro on it. I had to use 30db+ to hear anything... Love your videos. You can use "basic" stabilization in the device, although gyro based one (Stateflow) is much better and needs processing like Sony A7S3.

The “Go” with no Mike adapter sounds better than this. The One X2 might suit you better. You can also use the OneX 2 camera from just one side like the GoPro and use the files without going through their app. So many features to the insta360 series. There is a pretty steep learning curve but once you get a handle on it you’ll se how much creative fun it can be. You need a straight pole to make it invisible...rookie mistake.

Gaaaaah, the DJI Pocket 2 was so close. If they had integrated that "do it all handle" into the main unit, made it a bit larger and longer to fit a larger battery it would be almost perfect. Not cheap but so good, but no they to do the GoPro Mediamod on the DJI Pocket 2 :-(

I understand another downside to the insta 360 is the charging port. Although it looks like a USBC, it’s really not. So any USBC cords you currently have won’t work.

Hi Robert, I have the camera and all of my USB-C cables work with it and with the dual battery charger (optional). My gripe is that the little flap that covers the charging port comes off almost every time I open it and I'm afraid I will loose it. Your motorcycle rides would be awesome in 360.
