It is theft. But even if you mark it the internal components with invisible ink (like we do) you still will only have proof that them stole from you. No real recourse. Keep the return policy but tell the people when they contact you that you have marked the internal components and to please return the exact item and it's components. This will often avoid the return.

One thing you can do different is be clever and ask questions to get them to admit what they did if they admit taking it apart that is automatically altered item and seller protected What I proposed eBay needs to do is buyers should have to prove in photos messages short videos, something the reason for a return, especially when you buy an item that is parts or repair so meaning defective and steal the ability to return it as defective but at the moment buyers are so protected they don’t have to prove anything eBay just accepts the return if this was a fair and balanced site as they claim it to be, the buyers would have to prove the reason for the return not just click a button and it’s automatically done

The supervisor backed the buyer saying he couldn’t tell by the pics it wasnt a full set of cards either ( I didn’t make note of it in the description ) only time eBay will take your pics into consideration is if they are using them to protect the buyer, otherwise they mean nothing … the sold comp is probably still available if anyone wants to look at pics themselves If I understand eBay no return policy correctly ( correct me if I’m wrong ) … no return simply means you don’t want the item back, if a INAD or damaged claim is opened a full refund is forced upon seller by eBay without the expectation of item being returned. I was scammed just the other day. I sell mostly glass. The buyer said it arrived broken. The pictures they send weren't even my item. Ebay said I needed to refund them anyway. And they left natural feedback with the pictures of the broken item thet was clearly not my item

I have a customer one time. They was trying to say there was a mark on a mug and they gave me so dark pictures and stuff. They want to send it back. They were thinking. I get their money back and let them keep the mug. But they was wrong. I was in a butthead mood. I told them. I will give their money back if they send me pictures. They destroy the item to get a refund. Surprising they did. Asia don't put customers in that. Kind of situation, but I knew he was. Trying to get something over on me. Bye. not show me good pictures of the defect of the item

We made half of what we sold it for due to the deduction, as for the buyer they have not disputed the deduction through ebay, however if a buyer buys your "parts or repair item" there should never be return situation since you are essentially selling an non functional broken item yet the buyer scams the seller into getting at least half their money back when they remove what they want from your item as in this case.

We do not offer returns on eBay. We stand behind the quality of our items and we don’t have time to deal with wish washy people who want to buy, try and return. If you are a person who likes to return items then shop retail. Returns is a platform to steal from buyers, waste time, and ultimately waste resources. That
