Thank you to everyone who joined me on this journey! I felt bad about not having something to say right away regarding my thoughts on what is going on, and any predictions for where the story is going next BUT I want to go over it in more detail next stream. I would like for people to be as civil as possible, especially to each other. I want to try to be as objective as possible because I know a lot of ideas can be motivated by a person's own personal biases. I think it's great that people feel so passionate about these characters and the story of VII but I've seen many comments in Shorts and other videos that will put other characters down as well as those that like those characters down. It's personal preference a lot of the time, but shipping and projection play a big part in it too. I hope you all enjoyed your time watching me get through Rebirth and thank you once again for everyone who stayed with me to the end.

The rift is because the merging of worlds started the moment Aerith died but Sephiroth couldn’t go trough with it because Cloud didn’t fall into despair like he needed (this is evidenced when he is the only one without LB full during the Jenova boss), Cloud created another timeline the moment he saved Aerith but the one is his world died because he can’t change that but somehow he still sees her probably it’s related with the rift only he can see. Cloud, Zack, Sephiroth and Aerith seem to be able to travel trough timelines, if Cloud wants to truly save Aerith he has to stop Sephiroth otherwise she would merge with the death Aerith from his world which is what was happening at the end, so she’s still not truly saved.

I knew a little about it but I fell in love with this story and watched the playthrough for the remake since I cannot play it. It's about time a true final fantasy 7 fan Read between the lines. The point of sephiroth and the multiverse so he absorb all the multiverse planet so he can become God..Aerith death was plan after all. Sephiroth made it Believe that cloud saved her but he already killed her in front of him. It was his mind playing tricks on him.. That's why The spirit of Aerith communicate with him to calm him down so he won't shatter.

This has been one of the best games I ever played!! And this finally OMG! It makes you question a lot of thing even while you're fighting, yet it still manage to stay fun, captivating and emotional. Fell in love with every single characters, which I didn't expect to. Excited to see how Vincent and Cid will play in Part 3 and how they'll expend on those characters. If they expand as much as they did with Barret and RED XII I'll be more than happy (They're already awesome) It has been amazing to play and watch many other streams to see people's reaction and love of FF7. Anyhow, Until part 3.

I think the development of the characters even more than before is what I personally loved about the whole thing. I think a lot of people came around to Cait Sith and Yuffie and it seems like they are changing Cid around too. I really loved everyone's interaction with each other and seeing the dynamic everyone has with each other both with their Synergy moves and in cutscenes. It's been a fantastic ride!

@@Yorcia Absolutely !! Especially since every side quest have you interact with at least one of your crew member. I would have understood if they did it for like 1/3 but every single one !?! They are crazy and I love it. Of course the main dynamic is represented throughout the main story, but have everyone goof around during sidequests is amazing. Even though some story parts are pretty goofy and I love them. Looking at you Shinra RED XIII

there is something off with the Aerith at the very end of the game. Telling Cloud to fight Sephiroth was the total opposite of what she told them all in her speech at the Temple. She told Cloud to focus on himself and that she would deal with Sephiroth. Very suspicious.

The way I understand the "multiverse" as it's being presented in this story is a little different from how multiverses are usually presented. I think at the end of Remake, the Arbiter represents the planet's ability to maintain an "ordered" lifestream. When it's defeated, it allows the lifestream to be manipulated, by both Aerith and Sephiroth. But when it's manipulated, it's less like creating different timelines or complete universes, and more like fraying or unraveling a thread in the normally well-ordered "rope" of the lifestream. Each time one of those threads is frayed(for instance when Aerith deflects bullets to save Zack), it splits off into another world that is ultimately doomed to end at the end of the unraveled thread that is no longer part of the lifestream's rope.

It sucks for Zack fans. It really does. But it’s been a long time and Aerith had to move on at some point. I assume the devs wanted to make it clear that Aerith was in love with Cloud now since no matter what route you go Aerith always confesses her feelings to him.

Yeah Im actually glad they made it clear. I played the original over 15 years ago and Aerith was always my girl when I played. So I prefer her and Cloud. But to be fair this is Clouds story Final Fantasy VII is Clouds point of view. Zacks game is Crisis Core and his story was wrapped up good so anything extra in the RE trilogy is cool for the Zack fans. But Cloud will always come before Zack in the main FF VII games that being FF VII and the RE Trilogy.

yes you are certainly right now I think that at the time of crisis core the developers voluntarily pushed the zak aerith relationship to put zack on an equal footing with cloud they had to sell the crisis core license but who created inconsistencies and now squarenix is trying to fix their stupidity because it will always be cloud and aerith for the developers but at the time they saw the money 💰

Doesn’t seem to confusing to me. Sephiroth killed Aerith. The white whispers won’t allow cloud to see the truth so his mind won’t shatter. Everyone wake sees the truth but cloud. It’s the same thing he did with Zack in the past. He blocks out trauma and makes up new reality in his mind. This is why Sephiroth says he can’t see the truth though such clouded eyes. Tifa will fix him in part 3 in the lifestream. I can’t wait.

The confused people are the one who want aerith to be alive like cloud. The people who hope to see the same event go down but didnt get it. The same way cloud hope to save aerith but didnt. Square played the players to the same feeling of cloud.

Okay, let me ask you a real question before criticizing her, did you come to that conclusion in your first playthrough, or you needed to rewatch the scene multiple times and see the details? People really don't realize that Aerith's whole arc in this game is her confessing that she got over Zack and likes Cloud for who he is. Sure, the similarities is what dragged her in, but she ended up loving Cloud for Cloud. If you play the canon date scene with Cloud and Aerith, she says, "But right now, I just wanna be with you." Another Arc she had is coming to terms with the fact that she is going to die and she ended up dying on her own terms, saying goodbye to Cloud. "Whatever happens, don't blame yourself."

True. When I was playing I had this thought as well. I ended up dating Aerith as well as it seems like the natural choice in this game. Although the post-Weapon scene with Cloud and Tifa had me slightly confused and wondering if we should be trying to date Tifa.

I'm not here to start some shipping war but let me tell u something... I'm just gonna give u things athat are said by the characters from the game itself. Before everything i wanna say that im gonna go with the Japanese version and not the sugar-coated English one that changed lots of the dialogues between the characters and what they actually said .the Japanese is the original one made by the Devs and the eng translation messed it up most of the time just like they did in the og. " She got over Zack and likes cloud for who he is " Well nope she didn't get over Zack , that's not true. When cloud asks aerith if she still likes Zack she says " yes, he has never given me a reason not to" The English version she says "maybe" which isn't what she says in the Japanese AT ALL. She says " sodane" which literally means that's right, that's correct or a simple yes. So u r wrong she isn't over Zack and that's coming from aeriths own mouth not mine. U can ask any Japanese speaker they will straight up tell u what it means. "Because right now I wanna be with you " The English translation is so horrible I don't even know what to say. The English version makes it sound like she said " oh well at first I saw Zack in you but now I wanna be with u and don't really care about Zack " that's exactly how it came off but in reality she said" I wanna meet YOU" .in the eng she says " BC right now i wanna be with u " which isnt what she says AT ALL yet again. And also she says I'm trying to Find YOU so how come she likes cloud for who he is ? When she is trying to find him and can't? Again this is within the game itself and not something I made up. And last but not least aerith likes cloud but doesn't even know what kind of liking it is , again am I making this up or is that what aerith said? That's what aerith said "Cloud I like u, but like can mean different things right? This liking which liking is it" ( in the English she said there's liking and then there's liking...the Japanese is more explicit and shows how aerith is wondering which liking it is ...) she says this last line not looking at cloud and is confused that's exactly one of the other reasons why cloud says that she has been acting weird. Cuz she infact IS confused and doesn't know what liking she has for him. And no aeriths whole arch isn't ABT her getting over Zack aerith is a cetra and she has a bigger role to play within the game I dont even know why yall reduce her charecter to that. And no aeriths date isn't the cannon date the ultimania for ff7 rebirth confirmed that all the dates are equal and none of them is the cannon one. If I'm not mistaken the Devs said that it's supposed to represent how cloud acts with each part member that's if I remember correctly.

Apparently there is no promise in the Japanese dub. So it's not the developers but the localisation team pulling kind of a big prank.

Yah that was definitely a big oversight by the North American translators…. Especially with the main theme being No Promises to Keep…. They changed the last line of Remake right before Rebirth’s release. I guarantee they’ll do the same thing before the third part comes out.

I wonder if this is a genuine mistake by them to have both remake and this ending confuse the hell out of people and everything is put on their execution of part 3 which is scary because I'm not really convinced they can stick their landing. We have like 4 possible popular theories and legit all of them have a good chance to be the case it's basically not what is going on but what are the actual red herrings here nobody knows

Thank you for this playthrough This is an aside and nothing to do with you, awesome game but I'm sorry, the Aerith death scene was done poorly. It was just jumbled and poorly executed. And yes I have read about all the theories about what is going on. But the impact of her death was lessened because of the timeline stuff, and also how they tried to show it. On top of having to fight 10 boss fights right after she died. The ending was just super chaotic, too many quick cuts without letting any scenes have any breathing room I feel bad for any new players (non OG players) who have to play through this and just be totally confused. When they changed timelines during her death, they could have at least switched over to Sephiroth actually impaling Aerith, instead of awkwardly cutting to a bloody blade and her falling.

Most people have played the OG and know she is supposed to die. This is a 25 year old conversation. I mean hell these characters in Smash Bros. That's why it makes sense to build on that knowledge. This game was meant for older audience and meant so that newer audience should go read up on the lore or play the OG.

And plenty of people playing Remake and Rebirth have stated they know nothing about the game other than they have seen some of the characters before and know some of their names

I really wish people would play with all the characters so they could win fights easier. You were supposed to use the opposite element to damage sephiroths wings. Yuffie can use all 4 elements via ninjutsu. Not sure how or why you didn’t know that 😂😂
