Copied from wikipedia about the orgin "The phrase first appears in Antoine Galland's Les Mille et une nuits (1704-1717) as Sésame, ouvre-toi (English, "Sesame, open yourself").[1] In the story, Ali Baba overhears one of the 40 thieves saying "open sesame". His brother later cannot remember the phrase, and confuses it with the names of grains other than sesame, becoming trapped in the magic cave." Its a tale from one thousand one nights for clarification

The one with "open sesame" is not true. That is the original phrase. It originates in the story of alibaba and the 40 thieves. The cave they were trying to open had a sesame-plant growing beside it. The sesame opening and giving access to it's fruit is a metaphor for the cave opening and giving access to it's treasure. Some useless knowledge for anyone interested

No, it’s actually open sesame. There are a lot of reasons why the word is sesame.

Exactly. It's been translated from the Arabic "iftah ya simsim" which means "open sesame".

Might as well have said "this one genuinely shocked me, this light bulb, when you turn it on, doesn't have a shadow!!!!😱😱😱😱" It's the "these were not easy to find" he says at the end. No fucking shit you found them hard to find, you're a moron. (I did like the divide one, never occurred to me before)

Well you could produce a shadow with a small, much brighter light and a flame of dense , intransparent smoke

@@flowrianeast42 but you said it right there yourself, inransparent smoke. The smoke would be casting the shadow, not the flame.

Actually under the right circumstances the flame does have a shadow as smoke and gas kind of flit through it before it separates in the air into plain smoke. As mentioned you do need a brighter light to see it.
