good to hear that! I feel that current standard is actually very good deck building wise because we have a lot of good generic cards and people just like to complain because they want to net deck the "best build" but not taking into account that a lot of builds are actually viable! I hope you have as much fun with standard as I have!

People seem to copy the “solved” list a lot quicker than they should. I find that the “solved” lists usually still have room for some innovation.

It's just that genuinely disheartening that bushi intentions to slowly kill off premium is just so blatant that anyone who say otherwise is genuinely just coping. The biggest is to this day bushi didn't import energy system to premium. And with how a lot of extremely good standard card use energy meant it won't be used in premium.

I think that standard has came such a long way since it first started, so many of the decks have gotten better quality to where they feel somewhat premium-basis

To anyone that is of the opinion that Premium is stale, I highly recommend you try getting into Standard if you aren’t. Premium is my favorite format, but I really enjoy Standard a lot too. It’s really nice to have one format be very dynamic and always fresh (Standard) whereas the other format is stable and changes slowly (Premium). Gives me time to really learn and enjoy a deck in Premium while never being bored in Standard.

I actually really like your take on Vanguard and Premium definitely is the vast multiverse of possibilities but I really think with the way Bushi is pushing the Vanguard IP I really am glad that you’re enjoying the very unique designs that only standard can provide. I do have some issues with it myself and I’ve been die hard playing standard since it first came out. But I’m just glad someone can enjoy all aspects of vanguard.

I’ve also come around to standard being a fine format with one key issue. I do not like the ride deck. I probably will get used to it, but the first 3 turns being very linear is still a problem I have as I wish there were more conditions than just discard a card. Maybe allow energy to be used instead? Not an expert though, just giving my take on the matter.

I think the discard is still important to force proper mulligans but I’ll be interesting to see what happens in the future

@@DCTheScholar 100% agreed. But I think it hinders some decks far more. I think a built in mechanic that maybe allows you to circumvent the discard for a less resource conservative deck would help. Definitely wouldn't give the leeway to every deck in the game though.
