I never pre order games but in this case Im so excited that not only I pre ordered the game but also the expansion pass so I can play with 3H characters and more. It looks that’s its not going to be the best story but as long the gameplay is good I’m happy.

I think with fire emblem most people criticize at first glance too quickly and I understand why But what we gotta keep in mind ,good or bad story and design aside,FE gameplay and music has been very great for over a decade and there’s no reasons to doubt on the quality of each new release. I’m very excited for the gameplay even if story is bad

You’re absolutely right. Gameplay and music have been incredible, plus Engage seems to be a huge improvement graphically speaking. I guess the Emblems and basic storyline left a bad first impression for me. Not anymore!

I love Three Houses so dearly that I'm still debating on whether I should buy Engage or not even though Bae's papa is the artist. And even though the three lords are in it. Three Houses was my first Fire Emblem game so I might not be that excited as other fans who's been into the Fire Emblem franchise for so long. The choice decides whether I should replace my taken joy-cons from my older brother or not since I hardly game nowadays.

@@Ayahime0 engage caters to new fans more then 3 houses in many aspects. The emblems are the only thing that really is for older fans while Everything else is more for newer player. Arguably even the emblems cater to knew fans because you learn about some older heroes that older fans know anyway xD

It's refreshing to see someone react to Engage like I did, I felt kinda crazy or like a jerk for not liking engage at first. It looked like the FE community being hypocrites to me, openly embracing stuff they critisized in fates just because it wasn't three houses. I'm on board with engage *now* as a gameplay thing but I see this cast and story as very vapid and forgetable.

This game is still doing very little for me, and I'll need to hear that the characters have actual personality beyond like one trope, but it looks very pretty and I appreciate that they clearly put sooooo much stuff into it. And ofc Sommie is without flaw.

Funny enough, I was hyped for Xenoblade 2 the moment they revealed it. I did get a little worried it wouldn’t live up to my expectations just before release, but I was pleasantly satisfied and happy with it. Engage, on the other hand, had a not so great first impression for me, but I’m excited now.

Game looks good from a gameplay perspective however, the story looks incredibly generic with no depth whatsoever which is gonna be further compounded by a massive amount of avatar worship. The sister twin in a clip already said she is apart of the "Alear Fanclub" so be prepared for massive avatar worship.

I fully expect Engage to be Fates HD and for them to double down on gameplay especially since the story is supposed to be simple. (Not that it matters since I find FE writing in general overrated). I just hope the gameplay is actually be challenging

That’s fair. For me, I’ve played FE games where the story is fantastic and those are the games I love. I’ve also played ones where the story is quite lacking and not as memorable for me. Of course, that just comes down to preferences, but I do hope the story hits home for me. Gameplay wise, I’m surprised with how much has been improved and added. But maybe I shouldn’t be, haha.
