Don't like that word "Casuals" but I'm starting to realize they may be more of these in MMA/UFC than i initially thought. How could you possibly declare a fighter who never dropped below top 10 ranked fighters of his division "past his prime"? Whittaker has remained top 5 ranked fighters in the MW division even through his rough patch and that's someone you'll underestimate?? The only concrete way for me to decide wether a fighter's prime years have passed is if said fighter loses majority of last few fights (3-4) in a brutal way, drop below top 10 ranked fighters of the division and remain there for a minute or accumulate wins through mostly close decisions for most of his/her fights without having at least half the wins in a dominant way. That's when I'm convinced that a fighter might be done for sure .

Casuals are the majority of MMA fans and keep the lights on. Ive trained with fighter in the UFC and they are some of the biggest casuals ever. They focus on their next opponent and maybe secondarily their division. I've been a fan from day one, but I've been a casual every once in awhile because life happens. People act like being an MMA nerd is a badge of honor lol

Whittaker is the best in the world a nightmare matchup for Strickland, always a tough matchup for Izzy, Whittaker should have won the second fight, I personally believe and people can disagree but i dont believe that version of Rob against ddp was his best version. And honestly dont think DDP would stand a chance in the rematch especially if he fights like he did against Strickland which there fight might have been one of the least skilled title fights of all time.

That's not how you judge fights it's like the people who were saying Strickland beat DDP because he had more total strikes like that's not how it works. There's context to fights that is a lot of the time more valuable to scoring than total strikes. Also takedown defense doesn't score you any points.
