17:32 Terminator Genisys is a great movie. I love it! Best Terminator movie since T2. I became a fan of Game of Thrones and Emilia Clarke because of this movie. A rebel warrior from a post-apocalyptic future travel back in time to the 1980s to protect a young woman from a cybernetic assassin only to learn another cyborg has already been sent back in time to protect her.

My Terminator list goes 1, T2, Salvation/Genisys, 3 then Dark Fate. Genisys is a good movie because it acknowledged that SKYNet wasn't really defeated with 2, more time travel tech was created and that they sent more Terminators to other times. I think it was touched upon in the comics where it shows Terminators that were sent back to the wild west even.

@@daveb947 I would switch genesys and T3 in my list but you're right. For my grandpa's and sister's birthday we went to see T6 with all the familly. When John was killed I said "Well it was a short movie, let's go" My sister sat me back and said "don't ruin the moment please". I had to watch the entire movie even if the intro had me furious a lot. Dark Fate was the worst movie I've ever seen and it's the sequel of the best movie I've ever seen.... My sister knew that this scene was too much for me. Never felt like that for a movie.

One more Terminator movie left. But don't forget "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" TV series. It's about 40 episodes, and as a member of the Terminator cult, you'll very likely enjoy it, too.

On your question about why Kyle meeting Reese was differant to what you saw in Terminator: Salvation is because this film is depicting the original timeline Kyle Reese came from in Terminator 1 where Judgment Day happened in 1997 followed by Kyle Reese being born in 2004 and Skynet being defeated in 2029 etc. Pretty much it's the original Future War Kyle Reese talked about in T1 and the war we saw depicted in both T1 and T2 but with differant actors. Terminator: Salvation followed the timeline where the future was altered by the events in T2 and Judgement Day was delayed to 2004 giving birth to a slightly differant future where the Future War carried on into the early 2030s. This is the future showcased in Terminator: Salvation with Marcus bringing together these characters, Marcus wouldn't of existed in the original timeline and would mostly likely of died during Judgment Day. So characters met in differant ways across both timelines, How John Connor met Kyle Reese in this film is closer to how they would've met in the first film.

I think Rise of the Machines. Salvation and Genisys are multiple alternate timelines a result of Cyberdyne getting blown up in T2.

I like this Teriminator quite a bit- one of the more interesting theories I have about this is that Sarah, Kyle and Arnold are actually the antagonists which create skynet because of their well intention. John didn't attack them as you noticed at the hospital- he could have very easily killed them. Johns' free will was stronger than the programming until he was betrayed. Some things that skynet says also plays into this theory.
@bafumat
@bafumat Ай бұрын
He simply didn't see them as a threat until he knew there was a t850 and they admitted they knew about the new Skynet and intended to destroy it. Skynet could never have predicted Kyles realizations, and the presence of the t850.

I like this movie. It is not as good as the original Terminator or T2, but if I judge it on its own, it is a good movie. Not perfect - and I could point out a few parts I don't like that much - but that doesn't make the movie overall not good.

This is basically super terminator all stars. With kyle and 800 from the first one and 850 and 1000 from the second one. Marcus was prwrry much john here. And here is the thing that most people dont know. Sarha is tha sarha from the cronicles tv series. Pretty much half the plot was just taken from the tv series. To my opinion the first act and prologen was very strong. The second act was quite week and third act also quite week, and the epilouge was.. well lets say it was inspired by T2 alterntive ending that was pretty good

From what I understand from KZbin speculation, this timeline was created when Skynet subsequently sent a second T-1000 back to 1970 after gaining knowledge (somehow) of the specific failures of the terminators sent in the first and second movies. 🤷‍♂️

Sarah Connor has become such an iconic character, they had two strong actresses from Game of Thrones to play her. Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) both played Sarah Connor. I am a big Dr. Who fan, so when I saw this in theater I was shocked to see Matt Smith in a non-speaking cameo as one of John’s resistance fighters…until he stepped up and killed John.

I always felt Jai Courtney was wrong choice as Kyle Reese. I think he lacks screen charm and presence that Michael Biehn had. And Jai Courtney as like wooden block in this one. Not nearly as bad ja Jaden Smith in After Earth but still... But that is more personal opinion

The only thing I didn't like about this film is how the opening scene ignored the previous films BEFORE it changed the timeline. Kyle said that Judgement Day happened on August 29, 1997 but in T2, Sarah and John blew up the cyberdyne building which delayed Judgement Day for 10 years until it eventually happened at the end of T3. Kyle also said that he met John Connor when he was a little boy but in T4: Salvation, Kyle was already an adult when he meets John. Finally, I hate that we don't see Kate Brewster at all desptie that she was in 3 movies (in T2, she's one of the girls that spoke to the T-1000).

As I've said in other reactions to the Terminator sequels after T2. The most obvious route they should have taken was to show us the war immediately after Skynet went online and launching the nukes as originally going down in Kyle's timeline. We get the fall of humanity in Pt1, the rise of the rebellion in pt2 and the victories vs the machines in pt3 culminating with the moment that Skynet sends the T100 from the original movie back in time and Kyle going after it. The messing with the timelines just made things worse as the producers were just trying to find ways to recycle the original premise for more $$$. Arnold agreeing to return also didnt help.

I'm loving your reactions to all the Terminator movies, Carol. 👍😊❤ I think the naysayers have a problem with all the sequels after T2 is because they forget the message that John sent to Sarah through Kyle in T1, "The future is not set." So, every time something is changed in the past, it changes what happens in the future which is why the sequels don't follow the logical progression after T2.

Compared to T3, I appreciate the fact that the makers of this movie were evident fans of the first two movies, to include a lot of nods and litte details that either appeared in the movies, or were alluded to in dlalogue, or taken from storyboards. I mostly likde the 2029 segment, and found the alternate 1984 interesting. Whoever was cast to play the T-1000 did a decent job. That being said...I'm having a hard time thinking of something I liked in Genisys, that was completely new original content. While Jai Courtney was (imho) miscast as Kyle Reese, I didn't mind Jason Clarke as John Connor (the human leader)...but the curve-ball twist to turn John into the robot antagonist (smh) I can't blame Clarke for that as he was just handed the script. The lack of new content, is why T5, T6, and probably T7 are reboot after reboot. The story has already been told in the first two (or first 3 for those that consider the 3rd to be canon). I would have liked to see a sequel to Salvation, using the story in the Timothy Zahn novels, but there's not enough demand unless Arnold or Sarah is in some way a main character.

Who sent the t850? I propose it was the Cop, Det. O'Brian. I think he survived, and sent the T850 back to save her in her youth at a seperate time machine site. Skynet would undoubtedly have built several in different places simultaneously in the future.

I still don't get the hate this movie gets. Though to be fair, over the last few years more people have come around on this movie a bit. The story is not hard to follow, nor is it confusing (though the two sequels would have been nice to explain some stuff obviously) and while the actor who plays Reese is a bit of a miscast - everyone else does a good job. Not sure why people thought Emilia Clarke was a bad Sarah Conner, since I thought she did a fine job. And Arnold is probably at this best in the entire franchise in this one. If you tell me at the end when he goes "Kyle Reese, protect my Sarah" and you don't tear up or feel it, you are dead inside lol Also, the action in this one is just top of the line. While I enjoyed the action in Dark Fate quite a bit as well, the action scenes in this were just so well done. It's sort of the same story as Terminator 3, amazing action scenes and a pretty good overall story that tried something new - that everyone hated and again have sort of come around on in recent years. The John Conner twist however, what can I say? It should NEVER have been spoiled in the damn trailers. I mean, what were they thinking? That might have been the single worst decision related to this movie.

It's a refreshing change to see someone reacting to these later _Terminator_ sequels. Not many channels bother with any of the films past _T2._ And while I consider _Genisys_ to be one of the two worst films in the franchise, I still find it entertaining to a degree, and the opening scenes set during the future war were nicely done in my opinion. Would've been cool to see a whole movie set during the latter stages of the future war, with the opening scenes from _Genisys_ as the climax.

You.... liked this one? Wow.... Well hey, movies won't work for everyone, but it'll always work for someone. It started out okay with the future war and the recreation of T1(though of course not as good as the og), but it fell apart when the time travel aspect just ended up a jumbled mess of nexus points and yadda yadda.... Time travel was merely a device to move the story, it was never the focus for the very reason why this film is such a convoluted mess. Also, Jai Courtney is totally miscast as Kyle Reese who performed nothing like the character. Just a generic action hero who whined and bickered with Sarah. Kyle Reese was a battle hardened soldier with PTSD and an almost obsession with Sarah. Jai displays none of the gravitas and nuances of what Michael Biehn achieved. Jason Clarke played John very well, but he didn't have the look of John Connor. Emilia was actually decent Sarah Connor, though she coulda hit the gym the way Linda Hamilton did. Overall, it can be enjoyed depending on the mood, but it's pretty much the worst in the series with wash rince repeat plotting, and overly cgi action. Think what you will about T3 and Salvation, but at least the action was done mostly practical.
