Catfish is hard because you first try to catch it on day 3 with fishing level 2. Once you’re level 5+ you’re golden, which is why the Sturgeon is so much easier (despite having an almost identical pattern)

Unless the catfish is the first fish you catch, in which case it's super easy. To do this: * On day 2, don't fish at all. * On day 3, fish at the river, but if you hook anything other than a catfish (should be obvious within a couple seconds), then hit the cancel button. * So, when you do hook a catfish, you're still in the fishing tutorial mode where you never lose progress, so the only way to fail is if you hit the cancel button by mistake.

I'm surprised that Carp was placed above the very bottom. I've always remembered Carp as the fish I don't even need to move my bobber 80% of the time to perfect catch at level 10. I specifically use this fish for Quality Fertilizer before year 2 and if I haven't Ginger Island for the Mussels because I can almost AFK farm it in the sewer.

Bream being on the same level as pufferfish and lingcod is insane. I would put both of them above mutant carp. I can catch a mutant carp with level 10 fishing no trap bobber no problem. Pufferfish and lingcod sometimes get away under the same conditions. Bream belongs at the top of very easy or bottom of easy.

It's ridiculously hard. I got one at level 8 of fishing + trap bobber and deluxe bait. It took me like 10 minutes to not lose the fish, I even got a treasure chest. The amount of XP that I earned was so high that I upgraded 1 level of fish after the epic battle.

i feel like these could change almost daily, sometimes you get good patterns and often you need to warm up first, sometimes you've been playing too long and you're tired. i don't struggle with really any fish at all, i way overprepped for the legend, and i did the same for glacierfish, except it was still ACTUALLY hard to catch. idk. only one i still struggle with constantly is actually lingcod 😂 i'm a hoarder so for a while i was just catching ghostfish for funsies 😂

I don't know why Ghostfish was put about Stonefish. He said that it took a long time to hook them, and yeah, fishing in the mines I got more algae or trash than Ghostfish. But fishing strictly on the level where you can find Stonefish I was able to perfect catch the Ghostfish about 2 out of 3 attempts, so not that hard to catch. And by the time I got my first Stonefish on the line (and they were not hard to reel in, but I wasn't likely to be getting a perfect catch anytime soon) I had already caught 10+ Ghostfish. Plus you can find Ghostfish on any of the fishing levels of the mines, so you'll find plenty while going for Ice Pips and (if you fish them from the mines) Lava Eels. But Stonefish are only on the one fishing level of the mines. Ghostfish are mine fishing easy mode.

I know this might make some players feel a bit cheaty, but hear me out; Glacierfish gets "easier" at least based on my personal experience, with a food buff which gives +2 fishing minimum, level 10 fishing skills and a Cork Bobber. Best scenario would be a Seafoam Pudding with Qi seasoning. With this in mind, my personal opinion as to which fish felt more "impossible" than the Glacierfish is the Scorpion Carp. I hate the Scorpion Carp so much despite having better odds of finding it than the Lava Eel. [SPOILER ALERT] But it gets better now in 1.6. You can now have 2 bobbers with Advanced Iridium Rod. Which means, you can stack 2 Cork Bobbers (and the size does increase, just by a few pixels) + the new Deluxe Bait which also further increases the size of the fishing bar.

So, I would've also put the glacier fish in the medium to hard on my first playthrough cause I caught it on my first try, but now I can't catch it at all. I think sometimes you just get an incredibly easy (relatively) pattern for it sometimes while it's supposed to be a challenge. Like some sturgeons are literally as hard, but then I'll get one that barely moves, but since it's a legendary it can't be redone so we only get the one example till we do another save.

Here is a challenge for you to try. Catch all 10 legend fish at irridium quality. Bomus if you catch the other fish in impossible list as well. You CAN'T use the new rod introduced in 1.6 however, Seafoam pudding is fine however.

i honestly don't know how i caught the glacierfish. well, i do, but the circumstances were INSANE i was just fishing at its spot on a early winter day, no tackle attached or anything, just normal bait, practicing for it every time it came up (i planned on coming days later to catch it with a good tackle and maybe a effect buff), and then... on my THIRD ATTEMPT... I GOT IT. i don't know HOW. it moved incredibly quick, but THAT time it Didn't move around that much and i was able to catch it! i was SO shocked when i did LMAOO i struggled more with the crimson fish surprisingly

I think glacierfish does depend. I decided once to give Glacierfish a go on a run because I had a day where I didn't have much else to do so I just decided to fish for it. I caught it on the first time it was on my line because it hardly moved. However, other times I couldn't even keep it on the bar for more than 2 seconds because it was moving so erratically.

i did recently try to catch all the legendary fish as iridium, and that moves the angler fish up to annoying, bc while you can use the quality bobber for all of them, the angler you also have to catch as a perfect catch, due to the location.

ok but I can't believe the carp isn't the lowest on the list. at least the other fish move around, if you hook a carp with moderate level fishing, you don't even have to move it just catches itself because it stays so close to the bottom of the bar. I'd say you actually have to move the bar 1/3 times you hook a carp at level 4/5

I always go to max fishing first in all my playthroughs and recently I started a new playthrough as of 1.6 and I tried catching all the fish in the game without buffs, bobbers or special bait or whatever (unless it just increases catch time) and tbh I'm shocked Glacier is on a tier of its own. Its still hard dont get me wrong, but id say its like 2nd or 3rd hardest, octopus for me was the one that almost had me quit and use bobbers but when I caught it I went and dropped it in the volcano cuz that's how much I hated it. (excuse my bad english, its not my main language)
