I’m a retired disabled army vet and I don’t mind saying that I have seen horrible s**t that has truly desensitized me. Despite this for some reason Nightwish always manages to cut through to my core. It’s impossible for me to describe why that is as well. I will say this though, they are truly a therapeutic experience for me and since rediscovering them with floor about 2 years ago I think I have improved due to their music.

There is an other amazing acoustic piece with Floor, Marco, Kai and Troy: Nightwish - Edema Ruh (live at Baltic Princess Cruise) In case you are going to check it out some quick background: The Song ist based on the Edema Ruh, troupes of singers, actors and storytellers, that travel the world in a really good fantasy novel series called Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, of whom Tuomas is a big fan off.

Floor is crystal That second verse modulation in the second line was beautiful when Troy muted and cut all sound completely and Floor worked to make the lyric extra crisp. This song had lost its meaning a bit for me coz I've heard it hundreds of times, but this is so fresh and new. Like the first time. The lyric, the melody, the resolution of every cadence. Wow. These two weren't even with the band when this song was written and released, so this respectful and elevates it so far. "unplugged" wowzers

Man, you know what. I always thought Nemo was a boring song. Not a bad song, mind you. Just a "here is a prototypical single from our new album that you can play on the radio". And I'm going to not talk about Floor because we all know she's the King Midas of music. Troy. My man. What the hell. Troy brought more life into this song that I thought was possible by stripping it down and applying a little of his creativity. Like, just listen to the two heavy baselines just before that beautiful softer chord from 1:20 to 1:24. That was absolutely gorgeous. The man just intuits accentuation. And you can hear his influences on the last two albums clear as day. He brought a new life to this band just like Floor has and Nightwish now has an even larger array of influences to pull from. I'm in love with his work here. Nevermind the fact that the dude is a multi-instrumentalist god. From now on, NW should release a B-side version of every album they make. I LOOOOOOVED when Epica did this with Design Your Universe and there is absolutely no reason NW can't do it too.

i cant believe the transformation she has had with nightwish it's unbelievable. I have tried to go back and listen to her in revamp and other projects long ago and something was just not there. She was not awful but no where near as powerful and awe striking as she has been since nightwish. It's like Tuomas is the devil and gave her a deal or something.

I saw the horse video of Floor. The video before that was with her cat. Her home is in the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by nature on all sides. Great place for 'quarantine'.

You gotta check out more vids from thier Decades - Live in Buenos Aires concert. Troy is getting more roles than just the tin whistle and pipes and it just enhances the band as a whole, and really shows off his title of "instrumentalist". Seriously, check out Come Cover Me, The Carpenter, Nemo (pay attention to the end solo), and just because it's my absolute favorite song right now Sacrament of Wilderness. Elvenjig + Elvenpath are a pair to be heard as well.
