I even read Goku/Vegeta fics where Omega are just women, Alphas are just men and Beta are men that develop either to birth or to impregnate. So any letter from the Greek alfabet can be used and interpreted in the way you like.

Adorable wolf girl teaching medieval economics, definitely a must watch. Rediscovered that anime past year, wondered if there would be another season before realizing it's 15 years old and getting a remake. I am a little worried about it based on a few reviews I saw after the first episode. Many seemed to love it like before, but there was a not-insignificant amount of people saying it lost or changed some of what the original had. I'm waiting to see if a dub comes out, since that's how I watched the original, and Crunchyroll just listed it as "TBA." Really hope the original actors come back for it, because both were perfect.

The original actors for the main duo are back, and I liked the first episode. It's still clearly Spice and Wolf without feeling like fan service to older audiences. It does look different, but considering how much time has passed and how the general anime aesthetic has changed in that time, I'd say they did a good job of keeping as much of the original feel while still having that newer aesthetic.

@@daddy_doot I know the Japanese VAs are back from the original. I just hope the same will be true for the English dub. The reviews I saw weren't really talking about aesthetics. I don't mind that at all, it looks incredible even compared to the original which already looked great for its time. What they were talking about was how the story felt so far, how it was different from the original anime and the source. I didn't get much into it, since I don't know much about the source material, and I want to go into it fresh. There were just more negative reviews than I was expecting.

I think to truly appreciate everything that Girls Band Cry has to offer you should research how the anime started. In 2021 Toei with Universal Music Japan announced they'd be making a project combined with an actual band. They held an audition called "Girls's Rock Audition" to find the members of the band, and then trained them into the band members they are today PLUS voice actors. The band, Togenashi Togeari, has put out 10+ singles in the past year in the leadup to this anime's debut. The music sung in the show is entirely the band members rocking out doing their thing. The animation is good, too. Honestly, I think it has a lot of potential. When Girls Band Cry's animation is so smooth, don't compare it to something like Highspeed Etoile. That's a disservice to it.

As someone who has read the 7th prince, I really hope the animation is able to keep up. Because the more recent chapters of the manga has some of the most beautiful color spreads I have ever seen drawn. The sheer scale of some of the artwork was astounding, but also there are plenty of moments that make you consider if the artist does other type of artwork on the side. Overall the story starts of decent, but develops to be pretty good. Nothing super complex, but it's a show about a MC that is undoubtedly the strongest magic user in the world who is only really interested in magic.

yeah the story is pretty plain but what we all hoped for was just the best animation studio to carry the impossibly well colored FULL CHAPTERS in the manga....so far, its looking decent but not within my high expectations...oh well, I guess it didn't receive much praise internationally so business-wise they might still be testing the waters for now. I can wait till the pope arc for ufotable to step in!

@@Edagui97 well to tell the story for the first arc: in the academy city of Kivotos, Abydos High school has 5 students, 1 3rd year, 2 2nd years and 2 first years, the group struggles to keep their school open, especially since they have to both deal wiyh armed gangs trying to make Abydos their turf, they have to pay off the school's debt to the Private Military Company Kaiser Heavy industries left to them by the previous student council. What follows is a story of five girls working hard so they can save their school through curtains of lead, sweat and tears.

Give Girls Band Cry and Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night an episode and you’ll immediately get hooked. These two are the most promising SoL/Music anime of this season. I had VERY LOW expectation while watching both of them, but immediately gets sold after the first episode. Also the reason why i watched Girls Band Cry is because the “🖕😃🖕” clip that i watched through reels😭😭😭

I think I've heard of Omegaverse before, but mostly I know about it from such classics like "Into The Omegaverse: How a Fanfic Trope Landed in Federal Court" and "Addison Cain's lawyer e-mailed me, and it only got worse from there", both by Lindsay Ellis. Now that you already know about the existence of this thing you might as well enjoy the absurdity of it by watching these videos. :P

Uhh yeaaa it’s ok. It doesn’t deserve the high of praise though. The secret identity thing is dropped pretty quickly, the main characters abilities are once again just punching, and we’ve also gotten to the point where every reader is sick and tired of the current antagonist. Personally, I think it had a lot of potential and squandered all of it.

First season of Re:Monster may be okay. It's interesting at the start, the author clearly had an idea they wanted to explore, but they didn't manage to develop it further and it just starts to devolve into generic fantasy tropes the further you get into it.

Some ppl said the manga was darker, they do the goblin slayer stuff as well 😗 But the studio take different approach, to skip some of those part Now it just seems like typical isekai civilization just like tensura, a happy going group all the way to the end 🗿

I’ve been watching weekly anime since DitF & this is absolutely the most stacked season of anime I’ve ever seen: 1. Spice & Wolf remake 2. Konosuba S3 3. Yuru Camp S3 4. Tensura S3 (there’s a lot of great S3s lol) 5. Whisper Me a Love Song 6. Hibike Euphonium S3 7. Blue Archive 8. Mushoku Tensei S2.5 And on top of all that, Dungeon Meshi is still going strong from last season.

funny thing about the seiyuu radio bit though, many seiyuu, especially female seiyuu, do play idols and in performing, if they're not already straight up singers, they do play into the "seiyuu idol" angle. not really an "out of nowhere" type of thing lmao. the two seiyuu behind that particular anime are miku itou and moe toyota, whose unit is pyxis, and they've been a unit for years, initially being members of stylips. most of their time as a unit, if it hasn't been music, has largely been focusing on their own radio program.

fun fact about HIGHSPEED Etoile's setting: those type of supercar races already existed in the US around the 70's, some cars even used literal turbines to push the limits. these races were slowly but surely outlawed and regulated due to several safety concerns and the need to better standardize what vehicle modifications were allowed (the turbines mentioned being one example).

Surprisingly "Chilling In Another World with Level 2 Cheat Powers" is actually really good. It's like they intentionally named it like a generic trash isekai and then started it like one just so they could subvert and progress it from there. Lots of character progression for the main waifu who somehow grew on me to the point I will fight for her (totally unexpected), the main couple seals the deal with marriage within a single season in a natural progression, the show starts with the concept of slavery being a thing in their world and the MC say "F no, im not bringing that poison into this new world" when the system tries to force it, the MC is OP but the entire show is about literally everything else basically, it sets up a harem that then ends up not being a harem at all, and despite being summoned as the "failure" hero and being much later recognized as the "real" hero this is just a minor sub plot. Alot of things are handled very maturely and for you "i just wanna see the OP be OP fans" he does get 1 specific fight during the season where you will reveal in him finally losing it and throwing hands on his enemy.
