The biggest thing I dislike about his videos is when one character (the bad one) insults the good guy and makes a bunch of assumptions like, "You're probably super poor and get bad grades and smell bad!" Then it turns out the good guy is the complete opposite, turns out not only did they get straight A's in school but they also are the CEO of the most successful deodorant brand in the entire world.

all of the relationship ones show literal domestic/verbal abuse and then they go back to them after the psychopath "learns his lesson" and does one nice thing. and like, the lesson is like "its okay that shes fat" or whatever but not really bc half the time they will just lose weight and the guy will be upset about it 5 years later. Or the poor guy gets rich and the women is upset about it 5 years later. The lesson is like, stay with someone you hate bc they might get thinner/rich

The problem with these messages, is that they're clearly intended to be applied to real life, but they deny all nuance to the issues they're addressing, which can be really harmful. Like, once you look past the over the top villainy of the "bad guy" characters, and break down the morals to their basic components, they're actually not that good. The video with the spoiled girl for example, it's essentially saying "your preferences don't matter, you should always be agreeable, and never voice any grievances or disappointment", which is easy to agree with when applied to that situation, but it could be used by parents to justify ignoring any aspect of their child's wants, needs, or identity. There was also a video about how men being friends with women might just be trying to get with them, and how boyfriends are justified in being distrustful of them. Again, when applied to the over the top situation in the video, it's easy to agree with, but in general, "men and women can't just be friends" is an incredibly harmful and prevalent idea. I really hope that people don't take these messages as universal.

And the videos he makes about racism where the racist character only apologises when they find out the black character is rich. It feels like it's saying "you shouldn't be racist because that person might be rich or important." and not "racism is wrong in general and you should always treat people no matter what race with respect." I dunno that's just how I feel.

The one thing I never understood about Dhar Mann is how he saids he’s changing lives with these videos. In reality the people who get inspired by this type of content usually are the worst type of people, people that honestly don’t change. Positivity and feeling good doesn't change anything or help anyone without genuine empathy, insight, and context. Dhar Mann's content is the purest form of toxic positivity, I wouldn't be stunned if it was revealed Rachel Hollis ghostwrote some of his "scripts". It has the same vibes as a charity that pockets the money you donate. I know I'm bitter but this is the kind of stuff people use to make others think they're good people so they can hide how they're exploiting people behind the scenes.

A lot of these videos also feel very 'revenge porn'-y if that makes sense. So many of the videos are about someone's girlfriend leaving them or being bullied for working in fast food, only for that character to later on become hugely wealthy and successful while the character who scorned them becomes like...homeless or something. Like it appeals to people on that sort of primal level where they want to show up all their enemies from high school by arriving at the reunion in a Mercedes-Benz with some beautiful man or woman around their arms.
@an_anju8275

Dhar Mann’s videos revolve around the same themes. It’s always… - Don’t judge a book by its cover - What happens in the dark always come to light - You shouldn’t judge someone until you know them - If you cheat, you’ll never get ahead - You can be anything, as long as you work hard for it - Anything boys can do, girls can too. If not better. *The MAJORITY of us already knew that. No need to reriterate yourself.*

I don't think it's enough to say his videos are just poorly written. The massive arrogance of this man, thinking he's imparting valuable moral lessons to people through his third-grade level writing and childish direction, is insulting. He produces low-end toxic positivity that makes people (especially adolescents) more cynical, and hides behind the intended message to protect himself from legitimate criticism. If he truly understood and believed the things his production studio puts out, he would be able to write different, nuanced scenarios and give them better direction. Instead he uses high production value and overly simple scenarios to sell a flimsy message and fuel his ego. He harvests views from the lowest common denominator and is profiting massively off of the benefit of the doubt that casual and passive viewers give him. I doubt he seriously believes his own bullshit, so I wish people like Cody Ko had actually continued to push back against this trite crap. It doesn't "change lives," it gives people a false sense of moral superiority because they feel better than the simple antagonists, which doesn't actually lead to introspection and growth. It's pure narcissism.

My supervisor was telling me about this most recent Dhar Mann video she watched. Whenever she'd ask me "you know what happened next?" i'd tell her my first guess which is always right. In the end, she asked me if I've already seen the video. Of course, I didn't. That just shows how predictable his videos are that anyone can guess what's going to happen next.

I hate how superficial his writing is. Like it's in such a cherry picked way where it's cartoonish how everything plays out. Like the racist mom one who suddenly changes her entire views because the kid is actually the son of a CEO of a rich company. Like??? Excuse me what is the message supposed to be? Don't judge a book by it's cover? Don't be racist? Be in a successful rich family to get validated by a racist? I especially hate the ones where the protagonist has some sort of grand reveal and the antagonist is like "damn I didn't know they had a Deus ex machina with them. Now I feel bad for being mean and my entire worldview is changed just like that"

Please do a video where you react to dangelowallace’s documentaries. Starting with “Shallon Lester blocked me before i could get the truth out” (The first proper documentary) and with the exception of “Jeffree Star faked everything about… well, everything.” (Because the video was part of a 3-part miniseries which D’Angelo deleted 2-parts of, however, the sponsorship contract prevents him from deleting the video on Jeffree Star, so a lot of context is missing in relation to that series.) He made a community post detailing why he deleted the videos)) D’Angelo’s evolution, ending with the “Influencer-19” documentary is amazing.

As a Gen Z who uses TikTok, the ways Dharr tries to relate to us doesn't work. Videos on TikTok tend to go viral within the first few days they're posted, but in his videos it's "A few weeks later" and the video uploader is a local celebrity.

The "like I always say "You should always help..." " pisses me off as much as "feet ten feet off" from that Walking In Memphis song. It's the first lesson in creative writing, you're going to instinctively repeat words really close to each other, that's why you don't publish things the second you finished your first draft.

There are two reasons why someone would watch a dhar mann clip; it's either to forget about how cruel and unfair the real world is by watching the "obvoiusly" bad person being punished while the "good" one gets a reward by the universe or to mock it. Mine is the latter.

Actually, i think there was a video he didnt write. Someone else wrote it, and tbh it was alot better than what dhar man usually writes. The video featured characters that learned and grew, like there was no "karma" it was just a misguided character learning from their mistakes and becoming better because of it. I remember watching it and was like "damn dhar man youre getting better at writing" and then a guest appeared and said he wrote it, the vid was a collab. Yeah, i was just disappointed in dhar mann since all the vids feel the same and i thought he was getting better. Since that video i havent really watched his vids cuz they all feel the same

Okay, but "spoiled" people, especially children and teenagers aren't really at fault for their behavior. Even the word "spoiled" implies it. They don't have fully developed mentally and emotionally yet and are a product of their environment. The dad is just as much of a villain as his cartoonishly evil daughter.
