I've watched Revenge of the Sith SO many times! But recently I watched the Battle on Utapau in .25x speed and I found a LOT of hidden details that you miss while watching the movie at full speed. So, here's a compilation of all the different things I've found. Let's begin.

One day I got curious and listen to it and it said that they use a military person. Also on disc 2 it talks about the behind the scenes about makeup and CGI stuff and how they did it .

A small detail I like is the contrast between Grievous running over everyone, clones and droids alike in his escape while Obi-wan is careful to only hit droids.

Apparently right at the beginning of the duel between Obi-wan and Grievous, you can see a battle droid in the backround hitting the arm of another droid to tell him that Grievous is about to ignite his lightsabers, I thought it was a fun little detail

General Grievous was actually at the battle of Geonosis, Count dooku had him stay to the Catacombs under the arena, because he didnt want to make Grievous' presence known to the republic just yet, and kill any unsuspecting Clone Troopers or Jedi who stumbled down there. He proved himself and that's how he got made General of the droid armies

There's a funnier part at the beginning, during the bridge fight scene with obi Wan and the staff Droid. Right before obi Wan decapitated the staff droid, the electro-staff hits a console where a battle Droid is standing and it arcs electricity to the battle droid's hand and he gets zapped and yells "OWWW!" right before Kenobi decapitates the staff droid.

9:35 behind Cody you can spot a grey Clone Trooper. These are “officially” the 41st legion for some reason, even though they’re on Kashyyyk. You can also see some in the Jedi Temple for whatever reason, so my headcanon explanation for this is that these grey troopers are actually some armored legion that accompany larger formations like the 212th, 41st, and 501st as added forces and armored vehicles. I mainly formed this idea based on the fact that they are seen on Coruscant shortly before departing for Kashyyyk with many Turbo Tanks. I don’t think many large legions had so many armored vehicles, as the bigger legions are primarily infantry and only a necessary amount of armor and craft. There definitely were many Clone Trooper legions and formations that weren’t led by Jedi and performed more specialized and logistical roles like this during the Clone War. You can see another grey trooper at 10:42.

I wondered if they had something to do with prisoner containment, similar to the Coruscant guard, because commander Gree is commander of the 41st, and most often Commander Gree is seen in a prisoner containment or transportation duty. My thought is maybe once they took the city they sent in the 41st (grey/white edition) to contain the prisoners.

Definitely do the Gungans. There's a LOT more practical effects in these movies then not. Lot of model, miniatures full sets and partial sets as well as my paintings. Utapau is one huge model. The Phantom Menace and lonely had more practical effects sets Miniatures models etc then the entire original trilogy combined. As well as every single Star Wars movie ever made even that Disney crap is more practical effects in The Phantom Menace than any other Star Wars anything

2:25, actually Grevious was there on arena, but in catacumbs; when soldiers and few jedis wanted to capture Nute Ganray, they nearly got him, but grievous killed them. He literally destroyed them and grab his first 2 lightsabers. Then, jedi council thought, that in catacumbs was just another beast, because no sith or troop could do this.(official canon)

What makes the Trooper backhanding the B1 even better, is that he is one handing a DC-15A, the full size rifle the Clones use. If it isn't heavy, it is at least awkward to hold with one hand. That is an impressive feat of strength and training.

Yeah the clone around 9:20 that jumps on the crab droid is actually a (now former) special forces soldier (devgru) that had a friend working security for Lucasfilm and during a brief meet up some of the scene coordinators and animators brought him in as consult to discuss with animators the physical demands and movements associated with a typical soldier, and the dude did some moves in a blue suit! For the scene, they described the idea and they used a flattened, short/ ground level mechanical bull mechanism to portray the crab droid doings its moves/bucking motion, and he ran, flanked, jumped on it and pointed a covered prop down and kept going... the mechanism was elevated so it then “collapsed onto the ground” as the guy rode it down, as we see where the clone dispatches the droid and it falls down and he kneels/keeps shooting like a boss. Also the same guy who was punching the droid! so TM and several other actors (not a lot) were blue screen suits for clone armor but then the others that are artistically DOING things were pretty much a spec op guy running around being a badass on a stage with props and stuff 😂

Chances are along with Order 66 being the systematic termination of the Jedi, a sub directory could also have been given for a Galaxy wide Conquest of territories. The clones would start conquering and laying out the foundations for the newly formed Empire. As a kid I couldn’t watch the part where Vader was burned and when he was being put in the suit in ROTS. Aside from those scenes however I was able to watch most of the movie. And to this day I still consider it my favorite of the Skywalker Saga.

I love how before the clone wars tv show gave clones personalities, they were hinting at it in episode 3. There's a scene right before this battle (I think) where obi won is briefing Cody and other clones and you can see that some have different haircuts and hair color. And the fact that they box droids and smack them with their rifles shows they have personality as well.

There’s at least two scenes where there are 41st elite Corps troopers with grey markings on their armor in the background. These guys are the ones standing around at the beginning of the movie, right after Yoda, Obi-Wan and Windu are talking in the gunship about Anakin. But in this battle they have maybe only 3-5 seconds in total screen time, but it’s still pretty neat to see.

Grievous was at the battle of Geonosis, in the tunnels. He was ordered not to be seen as the separatists didn’t want him to be know at this time. He probably did kill Jedi who came upon him. He later developed his habit of collecting lightsabers when he started doing assassination missions

I have been enjoying your videos recently after being recommended by the algorithm. I saw all 3 prequels in the cinema. All the cool stuff you show just tells me that a lot of creative people spent a lot of time n effort on all these shots, but as you say, there's no time to see em. Proof of the whole "It's SO dense" and "Every frame is jam packed(paraphrased)" Lucas could and SHOULD'VE given focus to such EPIC scenes. Not by lengthening the screen time, but by FOCUSING on these cool, interesting scenes. The man doesn't get that by shoving as much stuff in our faces does not a good film make. I thank you for your infectious enthusiasm, and for highlighting all the little details that next to no one saw. We shouldn't have to go slo-mo to appreciate em,y'know? George had a very, VERY talented team, yet inundated every shot with confusing nonsense to the point where slowing the film down was the only way to see the level of creativity and work instilled in these movies. Keep at it, bud. I'm enjoying your videos. But it's that "Cram as much of EVERYTHING into EVERY frame that shows how G-Luc(to coin a term) shouldn't have been director. He's an ideas man. Not a decent director. Take care man! 😉

After my eleven billionth rewatch of revenge of the sith, I noticed Cody recoil when he was given order 66, but then he comes back and executes it without question. It’s like he was surprised the order actually came down (Or in canon, his inhibitor chip kicked in)
