It wasn't mentioned well in the film but the real Perron family said when one person was being haunted no one else could hear them, like Bathsheba put a bubble around them so no one else can hear. That's why no one heard the pictures falling or their mom banging on the door

My wife and I saw this in theatres and it's the only time a movie made us verbally scream in fright. The part where the demon is on top of the closet is what did it for me; was just so expecting something to be _in_ the closet and not pan up quickly for the reveal. And the "LOOK WHAT SHE MADE ME DO!" part made my wife scream so friggin loudly she scared me more than the scene. To this day I think it may be the most effective horror movie I've seen.

I honestly think Ed is really misunderstood. At the end of the day his main priority is keeping everyone as safe as possible. I see him as someone who struggles with empathy, which is why he can come across as a little cocky and rude. He cares so deeply for his family, and for others, he just has very different ways of showing it. He's terrified of what these cases do to Lorraine, and wants to protect her, but he also understands the responsibility they share in protecting the families of those who seek their help. I think he shoulders a lot of the "responsibility" of keeping everyone safe and making sure to get all the facts, so it's like he feels he doesn't have *time* to be patient and kind when their souls are quite literally on the line. Whereas Lorraine is the opposite. She's not so much "hands-on" as she is empathic and sympathetic. She offers the shoulder for the tears and spiritual issues, but Ed offers the shoulder for the hard work. Of course, Ed could stand to learn to show a little more compassion, but I don't think he lacks it, he just shows his care in a way that's very different to his wife. That being said, I'm so happy you're doing horror reactions! I followed you here from your BTS reactions, and I'm so excited to see what you'll do next! :D

I truly love this movie, I think it's one of the best horror movies to come out in a long time, possibly in my 29 year long life....it's a really well loved movie but I still don't think it gets the praise it deserves, I love The Exorcist and I think The Conjuring is on the same level in terms of great story, amazing visuals and horror that won't let you sleep for days!!

I really *really* REALLY hope you give Stay Alive a shot at some point. Depending on which version you can find (theatrical, unrated, or director’s cut) it can get pretty gory, so if you can’t deal with that type of horror it’s fine. But it’s kinda infamous for being Disney’s first and only slasher. It’s a bit campy and some people call it cliché, but the premise is interesting and different from other ghost movies I’ve seen. Before movies like Unfriended, Stay Alive was The “modern ghost movie”
