I fished most of the lakes there in the late 70's early 80's. As far as I remember Windermere was a hard water compared to others - but we used to pick up the odd monster Perch. Wish I could time travel and take modern soft plastics with me.

In Ireland we fish big waters all the time , most of the time pre baiting is a must for catching bags of fish.

Head to Thirlmere, north side on the left corner of the dam...... look for a big rock you can sit on as the watera edge, float and double red maggot is perch a cast 🎣🐟🐟🐟

That was a bitbof an epic effort. Shoals of bream heads down like herds of finned herbivores...prebaiting day before on big expance pull in the herds..in winter Perch under the docks.. Spain el rio ebro lots of great fish species in there..

I enjoy following your journey. But having dived in Windermere I'm surprised there would be anything that far out. There is thick silt on the bottom and no light after about 5 metres so I can't imagine anything living as deep as you were fishing. Good luck with your journey, can't wait for your next installment.

Hi Adam I want to bream fish Windermere without a massive walk - where are good accessible parking pegs, I can be up there early. General information tells me it’s free - is that right. Love your videos 👍

You would have had better luck at Ullswater, try fishing the bays down near Glenridding. Swim feeders with maggots work really well, caught many a brown trout with this method.

Not to sound like im putting you or anyone down but i feel like casting a feeder into a lake that big is the same as fishing a waggler 6 foot deep in a 100 ft deep water, the amount of bait to draw in some fish would be funny to see😂
@kennethtalbott223311 ай бұрын
if it's tricky mate, stick a size 18 on, size 12's are massive, will put fish off. i use nothing bigger than a 16.

@felgate1111 ай бұрын
Go back to the same Peg Adam, but next time, chuck the feeder down the edge. The Hotel kitchen staff & guests will be chucking in bread & other food scraps to feed the ducks & swans & the fish WILL be waiting there to intercept any that gets missed by the birds. The Hotel has to pay "Business Rates" for their Bins emptying, so makes sense for them to cut their bills by dumping SOME, waste food into the Lake. (Maybe at night so no one sees them)
@pleasantville452911 ай бұрын
I hope not. Dumping waste into a beautiful lake like Windermere should be frowned upon.

Best fishing is Glenridding on Ullswater, just 900 meters up from hotel, some bays at bottom of cliffs. Cast 8 meters out and close bail arm, the feeder will arc down fishing on slope about 13feet deep about 5 meters out.
@carlislecharva765311 ай бұрын
I've just finished working out at Glenridding at the hotel I didn't see many fishing it but knew I would be good! What's In there and what's best way to fish it im going to try afew days this year?
@ExperimentalAngler11 ай бұрын
You can't see the small bays from the road or hotel, no parking on the road anymore also, used to be able to park in the layby areas but now double yellows! Thats the Lake District for You! Lot's of Perch and Roach, odd trout. Use double maggot and need heavy ground bait in feeder otherwise you will start to lift the fish off the bottom. After 6-7 chucks i was getting bites on the drop,, with a feeder!@@carlislecharva7653

I’d have bombed that with ground bait not so far out and marker floated it, on a lake that size ld certainly go for a bigger feeder as it will wash out the feeder in no time anyway each to their own
