Hello Flo, I have never seen anyone so happy for August meeting before. Normally most women wouldn't even want to attend. Either way you have made August meeting very interesting for me. I remember back then my mom would wear her Mary Sumner wrapper to the August meeting and various church functions. Glad you are having fun at the meeting. Thank you so much for sharing. Aww this brings good memories. August meeting in my village is always serious work. One year, my mother and the women built a meeting hall, another year was borehole, another year they built a hospital in the village and WHO came to commission it. Please, point of correction, "August Meeting" is NOT Igbo culture. It was introduced in the church by Christian women to organize themselves. That's why the Meeting is held and celebrated in the church and NOT in the "Village Square" or "Family Compounds" as tradition/culture demands. God bless you.
