I decided to roam the streets in search of 10 complete strangers who were willing to come overnight hiking with me to the highest point in Australia. The girls taught me so much about what it means for them to get outside and the obstacles they have faced to become a part of the outdoor community as women.

I literally cried watching this. I have such a hard time making friends and I dearly miss my outdoor friends from camp in Brazil. This is beautiful to watch and reminds me of how happy I can be.

This reminded me so much of being at summer camp and meeting strangers and just being open I feel like sometimes the older you get the more closed off you become and less people you meet. I love this! Also, love your videos they’re super inspiring.😊

Hiking with strangers has changed my life. I joined a Facebook group for outdoorsy women during the summer of 2021, and since then I've gone on day hikes, camping trips, backpacking trips, and even a weeks-long international road trip - all with girls I'd only ever previously talked to online. I've met dozens of women just as passionate for the outdoors as I am - some I hiked with for only few hours, others I've camped with for a night or two. One group of girls I'd only ever met in person with for 15 minutes before we'd boarded a float plane to a remote island where we spent the next 4 days backpacking 45 miles. Currently, that same group of girls and I are now planning our third trip together. Once strangers, now friends. Hiking with strangers was once the most nerve-wracking thing I'd ever done. Over two years later, I now consider it the best thing I've ever done.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died for your sins and rose from the dead. If you repent from evil ways, believe that Jesus has paid the fine for your sins on the cross and confess Him as your Lord, you will be saved. You see, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, that's why Jesus Christ, fullness of Godhead bodily, lived a perfect life, fulfilled the prophecies and law, shed His Blood at the cross just so you could be forgiven, reconciled back to the Father, receive God's love, be made a new creation, whole, sanctified. It's not about religion and what good works you can do to earn salvation, it's only by grace through faith in the finished works of Jesus Christ. Read God's Word, preferably start with Gospel of John, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you, give you wisdom and revelation that way you're born again and see your life changed by the Spirit of the Most High. Much love and God bless you!

Summer of 1991 I did a month in the mountains of Colorado with a bunch of strangers. This video reminds me of that month and them. And I’ve forwarded it to the two who continue to be good friends. Thanks for doing both the hike and video, Courtney! A great idea well executed.

Seeing the apprehension and nervousness is so refreshing. I’m so use to watching creators who are men (example yes theory) find strangers who are nearly all men go on random adventures. They never show nervousness or fear, so hearing women say yes I want to adventure w strangers and I’m scared is so grounding and humanizing Thank you for this !

THIS MADE MY DAY 🤎💚💙 I was crying happy joyful tears watching it thinking what a masterpiece, how you truly bring together such awesome adventures and make such blissful content that makes me wanna get my trail runners on right now and get out there! The concept of women hiking together as strangers is truly phenomenonal. It shows the powerful comradery and bonded support that we band together when endeavouring on adventures facing these challenges together. Looks like y'all had an amazing time! I could totally relate to my experiences on trail as a woman, where my parents that aren't into it had their concerns, the shear vulnerability you carry with going solo, the limited physical strength and motivation, finding private nooks to squat using our Kula clothes, embracing the flow in your messy well winded hair and the wave of emotions that you carry along the way 💃💁‍♀️💅 Outstanding work Courntey and Jack 🌻 Truly inspirational 🎒

There is a hiking guide (woman) who does hiking trips with strangers all throughout Europe, some even gonfor 10 days. I really really really want to go. That experience must be the most fun to ever happen. You can meet so many open minded nature loving people, you can have deep talks and get to know someone really really well. It's way better than any bumble bff of whatever could ever work!

What a sweet little movie. After watching the movie "Wild" with Reese Witherspoon I also made a conscious effort to explore my backyard. The highest mountain I managed this year was 1700m, which was quite a lot for my standards since I started completely untrained. I also did my paragliding license, which fits perfectly as a complement to hiking. All the best from Austria!

There’s a phenomenon called “being in the zone” where your mind is in the present and you’re in total zen with what you’re doing. Once someone is aware of zone concept they learn to recognize when they’re in it. A group hike organizer mentioned once to not engage in deep personal worries or problems when you first meet fellow hikers. When you’re distracted walking and talking it numbs the strenuous feel of the physicality. Hiking is my favorite pass time. I’d rather not hike by myself. Hikers are known to be a friendly bunch. 😊
