Another awesome episode!! Two quick things: 1) I love the idea that the Greys you've been stalked by this whole time aren't actually part of a greater invasion and are just two random aliens fucking with you for shits and giggles. 2) I'm pretty sure the Mothership model is an exact copy (or nearly exact copy) of the ship from _Transformers: Age of Extinction._ So between that and the Borg cubes from the last episode, I think these easter eggs are just random sci-fi references and not anything nearly as sinister as they seem.

Honestly, a really cool game idea would be similar to this, but set in roswell new Mexico in the 40s. Like you're in the air force and you start receiving alien transmissions and have to stop a full invasion. It could have that 40s ad 50s sci-fi while still having a realistic and horror vibe.

I think that spaceship was used for mining/construction. Being just a framework holding together the components that make the thing work, it is also probably automated or remote controlled. The lazer beam that it shoots is probably some kind of super-advanced construction system, witch built the teleporter. That teleporter probably did NOT take you into that ship, but maybe took you to another alien ship or some alien base. Those pillars were probably some kind of activation system that was built to allow the ship to be launched to help in the takeover of the planet (like the tripods in war of the worlds) and the pillar system's complicated activation process was a lock to try to prevent a human or other intelligent species from activating the ship.
