I Went On a 30-Day Writing Streak | 6 Things I Learned

Thanks, Elliot, I needed that! I've been in a major slump for the past month, only writing sporadically and always feeling like I'm never going to get it right. I was 25,000 words into my current WIP when I realized that crucial elements of my story simply weren't working (this in spite of the fact that I had a 15,000-word outline to work with). I have basically had to start from the beginning again, and while I have managed to write a new outline, I keep feeling like I'm missing something. I've cut out a character that I really liked because she wasn't really contributing to the overall story, and I've done away with a bunch of scenes that I was really happy with because they no longer work with the current direction of the story. However, after murdering so many of my darlings, I have been feeling a bit gutted and, yes, disheartened. I haven't given up, but I think I can really use some of the tips in your videos to get my writing back on track. Hope 2024 has been going well for you so far!
