I'm from Puerto Rico (from the municipality of Guaynabo). I've lived through many hurricanes. I can tell you that the US/FEMA response has always been a mess, regardless of who the US president is. Our local politicians are mostly awful, corrupt crooks. Years after hurricane María many warehouses of unused supplies were found. That wasn't the US's fault, that was our local leaders failing. So why hasn't Biden-Harris done anything to help the continued recovery? Because no US administration has done much in the past either, other than hurricane Georges in 1998 where I remember more FEMA aid visibly around than before, but that recovery took a long time too. We're always forgotten about, left to ourselves until it's politically convenient for a US administration to use us for political points only to disappear quickly after getting their publicity moment.

My 90+ year old parents who have recently deceased were war torn WWII survivors from Europe. The stories they used to tell us of of the atrocities they had to endure during those times was nothing short of a miracle of survival. So, I live out in the Bay Area of California. Very “liberal” place to live. One thing I found extremely interesting about this election is how many people were out to support Trump. I did not see that in the other elections. There was a group double the size of Kamala’s supporters on highway 1… of course the Harris supporters were right behind the Trump supporters so if a car honked for Trump it made it seem like they might have been honking for Kamala since right after honking they drive by their group. A lot of the vehicles that were honking for Trump were also truckers. People are waking up more and more, I can even admit during the 2016 elections I did not vote for neither Trump nor Hillary, now I have realized the majority of democrats don’t know what they’re talking about and don’t know what would make our country better.
