I grew up off Brickell in the 70’s and remember going to Crandon Park Zoo as a kid and riding the train. Thanks for posting the video. Brings back great memories.

Thanks for showing this. I went here alot when I was a kid. That big curved structure use to house the monkeys. Great memories. I always felt bad for the animals in those small cages.

Thank you for posting this. It brought back a lot of great memories of my Dad bringing me to the zoo in the 70's as a little kid. I recognize most of the structures. IIRC the structure with all of the graffiti was an aviary with different birds and enclosed with chain nets on either side so they would not fly away

Man growing up in the 70's and going to the zoo was the best. They had a park and ride on the outside. When you first go in they had the train and the peacocks. It had a smell. And seeing the crocodile pit brings back a lot of memories. The train tracks are still there.

Where he hopped the fence is restricted but that’s just the back of the garden where mostly parked custodian vehicles and trash bins are held. The whole Garden it’s self is big and great for a bike riding and relaxing on the benches facing the small lakes. It all free just don’t feed animals and leave trash.

That's a really great place up front for exercise up front & I bet it's going to be even better with a petting zoo there. I may be 41 but my highlight of the state fair is still the petting zoo. I'd love to live near a place like this. It might even encourage me to get out & exercise if I get the opportunity to pet various animals that are not my cats or my friends dog.

My mom was telling me the story about her pet Boa Constrictor that escaped her yard and ended up in this zoo on display 10feet longer years later. His name was Herman and he had a unique identifying scar and her sister worked at the zoo. and so we just looked up the zoo and my mother is in tears she had no idea about the hurricane and it being abandoned. 😢

Is it no tresspassing or you can legally go
@andysprojects2 жыл бұрын
I believe the beginning is legal as it is now a garden, after you jump that fence it is more likely considered trespassing.

You can go there they turn it into a walking park. But the old zoo still have stuff there.
