I always remember growing up as a kid in WV of how we always used to pass the Bluefield train yard going to, and coming back from shopping at Hill's. Damn, I miss them days😢!

I grew up in Bluefield, VA about a mile from the main rail yard in Bluefield, WV. The train tracks were right across the street from my house and the windows would shake when they passed at all hours of the day and night. I really miss the rumble and the horns I heard so much in my youth.

Yellow over yellow On ex-N&W is Advanced approach I think I used to work on that territory. Bluefield -> Roanoke

Believe Yellow over Yellow means approach through a zone at a speed restriction I think

Yellow over yellow is “Advance Approach” meaning the train proceeds prepared to stop at the second signal. These signal indications are found in short blocks. The next signal would be approach.
