I can vouch for this when I was in high school back in 99 I worked there as an installer doing tire and oil changes, I never had a drivers license and they would toss me peoples keys and send me out to drive customers cars in...... needless to say I backed one through the garage door lol.. It was during a cold Canadian winter and i just finished putting winter tires on a car and I opened the door in my bay to back out and I hopped in the car and a mechanic was walking by and thought I just pulled in and was cold so he dropped the door and I backed right into it.

As a Canadian, some info: the Tim Horton's coffee you drank wasn't the real Tim Horton's coffee. They switched bean distributors after being bought out by Burger King. The Tim Horton's coffee I know and love is now found at Canadian McDonald's restaurants because they signed a contract with Timmy's old bean distributors lmao

My favourite Crappy Tire (oops, I mean Canadian Tire) story is where my Bro-in-law said he was going CT to get new tires for their car. She seriously asked him: "They sell tires there?" I had the same reaction when I went to Oz. I loved all the different vehicles. Especially the Ute's (Holden, etc) Way more practical than full size pick ups.

As a Canadian I never thought much about this until recently, but I’ve come to conclude that Canadian tire is more like Canada’s garage or shed… anything you might find there is generally related to something you might store in your garage or shed.. a mini fridge? Yep that’s for beer, canoes, bikes, big old storage bins, gardening tools, regular tools, spare lightbulbs, stuff for house repair, paint, cleaning products, buckets, camping shit, hockey shit… you name it. If it goes in the shed or garage than you can find it at Canadian tire. Also most people tell you not to bring your car to their garage but if you’re in a small town then the opposite might be true! It depends on the crappy tire.

@@Dawn_Hannah it's less abt the actual growing of coffee, more about the preparation. most suburbs have at least 1 barista-style coffee shop with a decent brew (including small towns), starbucks is confined to the CBDs and tourist traps, and the drip style coffee can only be found in gas stations and convienience stores

Canadian here that has watched quit a few immigrants experience snow for the first time. A snowball fight with Nigerian neighbours is one of my finest memories. Taught the kids snowangels and did the whole "let's make a snowman but really we will just roll up a huge snow boulder then break it up and throw it at each other" thing. Then we made a snowman. Tobogganing the next week. Good times.

Uncle had a small economy grocery getter before he moved, but then instantly bought an SUV after experiencing 2022's winter here in Vancouver. Shit was like the apocalypse lol. I worked at that exact same Canadian tire in Langley, BC. Believe me, its the worst Canadian tire in BC. I was in the back and i have so many stories of the shenanigans that went on there. I love listening to people talk about the place you live in like it’s an unexplored territory, which I guess it is for them. I agree with the traffic thing completely, every time I’ve gone away to somewhere that isn’t the states I stare a traffic in awe. I wanna visit Australia!

Canadian traffic is the same as America, but our buying habits are slightly different. Pickup trucks are everywhere, but we also buy more small cars.

@@CaptainRex332 Oh yeah, you can still spend the Canadian Tire money. They still have "CT Currency", but, it's all digital now... you just get "points" like every other "points" card. They changed it in 2014. It's not the same as having a big stack of Canadian Tire money tho...

@@DollyBoy_1923 They called it "Canadian Tire Money". lol The interesting thing about historic Canadian Tire Money was that you could actually spend it in more places than just Canadian Tire. For example, I knew a few arcades that would exchange Canadian Tire Money for quarters. Because Canadian Tire sells such a variety of items, the arcades would just accept the Canadian Tire Money from kids, and then use that money to buy hardware for repairs at Canadian Tire later on.

I love how you just glossed over visiting Toy Traders, the largest toys and collectibles store on the West Coast. It is so wonderful to see that you took yourself all the over these parts, I hope it was a great experience for you! Also, yes, Tim Hortons is maximum mid, and isn't even really Canadian these days. So surreal to see the streets I was just driving through last month in this video, it's great.

I've visited Australia back in 2018. After my 16 hour flight to Hong Kong in 2017, I've learned that I can comfortably handle long airplane trips, so my 14 hours to Australia via Qantas went very well. The trip to Australia was a bit of a disappointment. None of your animals tried to kill me! 😁

Canada drives on the correct side of the road. Plus there are huge trucks everywhere. They’re way bigger than the regular Hiluxes and rangers of Australia. But still I would love it if Utes were available in the states/Canada.

We need them back. The sightlines of these massive trucks keep getting higher and narrower. I'd rather the people who need a smaller truck for light work aren't stuck between dealer-marked Mavericks and Rangers, and overweight monstrosities. It's so stupid.
