When they announced Rogue Core I was at first a bit confused. Maybe a bit disappointed we didn’t get a DRG expansion. Then I was actually happy the game will be free from restrictions of the base game. I feel that it is a DRG expansion, but better. And now with the concept art and some bts stuff we’ve seen Rogue Core has become one of my most anticipated things in Gaming this year. Glad you got this opportunity Drilling

DRG is definitely not a dead game. I've had some fun with Survivor, which I bought weeks after release not realizing it was only $10. I expected it to be $20-30. DRG is not dead, but for those who have unlocked everything, unless you slacked off during anniversary like me and didn't realize the MK 6 armor was only for the holiday, it can seem boring at times. I have all the overclocks so weekly stuff isn't as interesting anymore. Finished the season, and turning it off limits the missions you can drop in as everyone else still has it on. For now, it is simply a good time to relax and maybe try other games...Like Helldivers 2.

It takes me 2-2.5 hours to drive to the nearest neighboring state. If I could end up in another country in half that time I'd be more worried about my passport too 🤣 The last domestic flight I took during non-peak times was $400. Most of us have no high-speed rail options. It's unfortunately just not as easy or cheap for us to get around in our country. The last time I went overseas was Italy six years ago and after dropping that kind of money I always just assume it'll be a long while before I can do it again lol

I hope ghost ship understands just how unpopular the plagueheart stuff was. The experienced side of DRG's playerbase was quite tolerant and showed appreciation when we were recently allowed to turn it off. *HOWEVER* the plague was clearly not enjoyed my the majority of players.

I was using GSG focusing on survivor as a justification for the obvious major stopdown in content (as this time in quality as well). If that wasn't the case really what was? I can't subjectively state they're losing passion about DRG, but we can't deny how the amount of stuff they managed to make (before starting to make rogue core) decreased a lot from Season 1. Yes, the updates are free, it doesn't mean we can't point out the obvious fact that updates are getting obviously smaller and longer to come for a game that the devs are "still passionate about and want to keep working on" about our favourite game

It's pretty normal for the amount of content in updates to shrink over time after a game comes out. When you're first working towards initial release, you end up with ideas and half-completed projects that you sideline because you just don't have the time or resources to get them in the state you want. Those incomplete features can then get tapped later for additional post-launch updates. It's a finite resource. You're eventually going to run out of stuff in the "ooh, we should add _" pile and have to start coming up with new stuff entirely from scratch, which takes longer. Plus, it's harder to make good additions to a game that's already quite complicated. Buildcrafting has a lot more variables now than it did when we only had two weapons per class. I wouldn't be surprised if they have to do much more playtesting for each addition now that there's so many different ways to play the game. As for the delay on season 5, they've explained this several times- Rogue Core was supposed to BE season 5. The project got out of hand and they realized it felt less like a new mission type and more like an entirely different game, so they had to move it to its own project and start over on the DRG update. I think the delay is understandable, given the circumstances.

But I still want to compare to Season 1, as that was a post launch update and it was great, (5... 8 new enemies, new systems, new gamemode, and casually 4 NEW weapons), compare it to season 4 , which was made at time they weren't making rogue core. Saying they're running out of ideas is a bt understandable but also weird, as they had 2 themes so far. And it's not like we're not in a pool of things to be added (more perks/perk rework, glyphid stalker, many things that have potential for being better, deep dives/mineral trading station/ overclock aquirement process, new events, yet almost nothing from this made it to season 4 (except the corruptor which, I repeat was a stepdown in quality and is still pretty rare) I am not asking for new weapons, I don't even think we need more than 3, but really we're far from a point where all the good ideas made it in and this is what we got (season 4) I do understand season 5 and I know about the origins roque core , it's just a bit dull to have season 5 less signifact now when we're on a constant downroll, and roque core early access still didn't come instead or any time soon untill 6 months

To be honest, your opinion is as bought and paid for as they come, as you will never truly go against GSG, because you don't want to lose all the privileges that come with it (as obviously seen in this video). The reality is that the updates in the past were the best and what made DRG thrive, seasons are incredibly lackluster and have been worse with every passing season. That is simply a fact. They can't even be bothered to rebalance some stuff just to shake it up, or to rework the old and terribly balanced perks. It is also interesting to see all this coincide with Tencent buying quite some shares and them now hastily expanding the DRG "universe". If you don't believe that Tencent has any sway in this then you are blissfully naive.
