It depends how you're calculating the average. Chelsea players were all around the same age whereas Liverpool varied more. Liverpool had younger players than Chelsea (we're talking literal teenagers) but people like VVD and Endo brought the mean average up. The mode average of young players would be Liverpool because they had more younger players on the pitch than Chelsea
