I spent a chill day in Izu Peninsula and explored the countryside of Japan with my friends Lilas and Yuki.
We started our journey at Hejinja, an ancient shrine filled with tranquility, and then explored the nearby Shuzen-ji Temple - peaceful, and wonderfully uncrowded.
We stopped by a local soba restaurant for lunch, where I had the chance to make fresh wasabi for the first time. Then we went to a cozy local matcha cafe that felt just like being at a friend’s house for afternoon tea. The warmth and authenticity of the place made the experience unforgettable.
Izu is such a beautiful place.
