Rest easy, TB. May Angels guide thee home. You always stood up for us as consumers, and we need you now more than ever. You were appreciated when you were with us, and you are missed now

5 years later, this remains true. Mobile games are either dumbed down, or have horrible controls

Diablo's staff need to see this, they need to grow a pair and stand up to corporate shillbag yesmen.

I think Totalbiscuit was right on the money when this video came out, but in 2021 a lot has changed. While this video is technically about core games, what would have been interesting (in an ideal world where TB was still alive) was if he talked about the success of not only emulation, but official ports of sixth and seventh gen games and how they are able to run on a mobile device uncompromised when using a compatible gamepad. Given how cloud gaming is becoming a thing, alongside Microsoft's push with programs like Game pass across both console and PC, it's clear that video games in the future will no longer be tied to hardware, and that ultimately gaming consoles themselves will become either irrelevant or niche products as opposed to PC and mobile. Ever since video game consoles have existed, the biggest barrier to entry has always been forking out the money to buy gaming hardware, especially if you're not already into gaming.

@@Vladislav888 that's what you extrapolated from that entire comment?
@Vladislav888 Жыл бұрын
@@Goldfire345 Pretty much. Because everything else but > mobile device uncompromised when using a compatible gamepad is irrelevant, and the market penetration of the external gamepads is rather small. It doesn't really matter if you rent the hardware or not. It's an implementation detail that has no effect on the topic.

@@Vladislav888 well what i extrapolate from that is that there are alot more options for playing uncompromised core titles on mobile than there was 10 or so years ago. As someone who has had android as their main platform since about 2016 or 17 with less and less access to a pc, as I was gradually moving up in hardware and software i felt those options increasing overtime. Probably the best example i can give is elder scrolls In the early 2010s I'd be looking for a title on mobile that plays llke those games like the aralon or Ravensword games. Now i can simply install open morrowind on my device and just play a full pc elder scrolls game, mods included, from start to finish.

Now that Google Play Pass/Apple Arcade is out and I have a full-time desk job, I need TB's mobile recommendations more than ever. Amazing how well his videos hold up all these years later.

I have played through Monument Valley several times because I just love the aesthetics and the sound.
