She still captains the H!P futsal team, still performs in H!P concerts and dinner shows, has done a couple of stage plays, appears frequently as a talk/variety show "talent", and does promo work for the Japan Football Association.

Tsunku only has a say in who joins the group. The rest of H!P's marketing (which includes photobooks) lies with Up-Front Agency. Members graduate from MM because they chose to, not because anyone made them. Mari and Miki CHOSE to resign, they've even stated that no one made them. Kago got fired, and Tsunku was sad to see her go.

Do you mean the graduations or the "retirements"? Members graduate for a variety of reasons: because they've outgrown the teen image of the group (e.g. Yuko, Kei, Kaorin, Yossie); because they're popular enough to go solo or form their own group (e.g. Sayaka, Maki, Nacchi, Nono & Aibon, Rika); or because they've simply had enough and want to do something else (e.g. Asuka, Aya, Konkon, Makoto). As for Mari and Miki's "retirements", see my earlier response to ChronoBreaker.

Morning Musume has had members as young as 12 in the past, and it currently has members that are 14-15. For the leader of the group to be publicly with a boyfriend sets a bad example for the younger members. (Graduated members and soloists have it a bit easier.) Remember what an idol is supposed to be. She's not just a singer or actress or whatever. She serves as a fantasy girlfriend to her fans, and that fantasy is ruined if there's a real boyfriend on the scene.
