That Power of Aggression ruling is another rule that's so unbelievably dumb and I will never play by it. I just pretend that overpaying doesn't exist with allies like Wasp and that it's just paying for them so that doubles count as 2 resources for their cost.

Overpaying is still a form of paying, so I agree with this even if looking at it technically.

I agree, why not just make it work? I can't think of other cards that would feel broken if it counted as 2. In a sense, they are just 2 resources in a card, specifically for red cards

Agree with this too. You can't overpay for something without paying for it so by paying 0, using Power of as double resources for an AGG card is then overpaying. They've found an opposite of the loop hole we are using. Co-op or solo game so who's guna tell us off lol

@@D20Woodworking I can imagine a hero pack with overpaying mechanic as a main gimmick, but we are after Tony Stark so I don't know who can be a next good target for this type of kit.

Page 12 of the 1.5 version 😉 There is a difference between paying ressources to play a card and "paid" ressources to max cost of the card and the overpaid ressources when over the max cost of the card... The "power of..." condition is met to be doubled when used to pay by discarding it and then, once all cards used to pay are discarded we look at what is paid or overpaid ressources.

COST A card's resource cost is the numerical value that must be paid to play the card. Some abilities have a cost described in the ability text that must be paid to use the ability. A cost arrow icon (->) in ability text distinguishes a cost from an effect, in a "pay cost > resolve effect" format. To pay a resource cost, a player spends resources that they generate by discarding cards from their hand or by using "Resource" card abilities Resources generated to pay for an ability on a card are considered to have been paid for that card While paying a cost, a player is permitted to generate resources beyond the specified cost Resources generated beyond the specified cost are considered to have been overpaid for that cost and were not paid for that cost. Any resources that are generated beyond the specified cost are lost after paying that cost. If multiple costs for a single card or ability require payment, those costs must be paid simultaneously. An ability's cost cannot be paid if that ability's effect requires one or more targets and there is not at least one valid target. While a player is paying a cost, that player must pay costs with cards and/or game elements they control. If a cost requires a game element that is not in play, the player paying the cost may only use game elements that are in their own out-of-play areas A cost requiring "any number" or "up to" some number of game elements requires a minimum of one such game element Some card abilities may reference an "additional cost." A player must pay all additional costs simultaneously with the cost that is being added to, even if multiple cards or abilities are adding separate additional costs. A player cannot pay the original cost or any of the additional costs individually; if they cannot pay for all of the costs at once, then they do not pay any of the costs and the effect associated with the costs does not occur.

I think Wasp is especially good, still, in a Spider-Woman deck because it counts as an aspect play no matter how many counters Wasp receives. In addition, Spider-Woman has two wild resource generator upgrades and a potential third with Quincarrier. Then you can use those as well to pay for the Drop Kick event.

I like Wasp, but mostly only in Ant-Man aggression, which is usually how I run him anyway for surprise attack. It gives you double the targets for Swarm Tactics, vastly increasing your chance of hitting it when drawn! I rarely run Minion only cards anyway, unless I'm minion hunting or deckbuilding for a specific scenario like Ultron or Green Goblin. And then like you said, it hurts it it's only the main scheme.
