At least one week every month I wake up at 5am to read for an extra hour before I need to get ready for work. I find that’s always my best reading time as there are no distractions and I’m not overthinking. I really struggle to concentrate reading at night as my mind is on overdrive. if you want a more deepdive on the struggles that were “ surface level” i recommend reading An Unnecessary Woman by Rabih Alameddine :) it’s about a woman living in Beirut , it’s about earlier times (i think 80s-90s) but frankly nothing has changed anyway so it’s still very much accurate to what we’re still going through now!

did you just call china a third world country? because GIRL
@katgreer61139 ай бұрын
People in Texas aren't educated about other countries a lot, and if they are its in a very demeaning way that paints said country as "poor" and "outdated." People in the US are very misinformed about outsiders, and we sort of live in a bubble and rely on the stuff spewed by others to get info. Funny, seeing most of us have the interent and can just search this kind of thing up. In general, Americans don't care about other countries much, but in Texas, it's even worse. Some still think Africa is a poor "country." It's not getting much better over here. Parts of China are far more developed than America, so idek. I'm not aiming this malicously at Ali at all. Our education system has just been failing for decades now. My little sister came and told me in class that they are still calling Native Americans "Red Indians." I mean...what? - From another Texan/Houstonian (but I major in World Politics)

how do you rate all of the books you read five stars? like yeah i get that you really like it but 5 stars is supposed to serve a title for a book that completely changed the way you go through your life not just a really good story

@manonvo86159 ай бұрын
Everyone rates differently and has different tastes. Maybe she is a bit less critical than you, maybe she just really enjoys more books than you because of her taste. People also read for different reasons, like a literature fan might want to jave alot of deep meaning and want toblearn something before it's a 5 star and others just read for entertainment and if they're very well entertained it's a 5 star.
