I just bought a 97 GLT 850 Turbo Sedan, as I understand the color was only made in Europe. It is more of Blue Green similar to the color on yours. I love the green color of the 850 you purchased. I have an intermittent electrical issue and thought it might have been a key lock cylinder but thanks to a helpful man who makes car keys I think I will change the switch after the cylinder. The last thing I wanted to deal with was car repairs, but a local Volvo repair shop has recommended thousands of dollars of repairs and thanks to all the guys on here showing me how to repair or help me narrow down what really needs to be repaired etc. A woman walks through the door and as my son said, "dollar signs flashing in their eyes, mom". Heaven above, I am in bankruptcy and I am only allowed to spend a very small amount for transportation. Shy of my 63 birthday, I guess I m going to try and learn how to save myself some money. Is it outrages for a repair shop to charge a $127.95 for a simple filter change? I did that myself for the cost of a filter. About 465.00 for the rear brakes. My son did the rear brakes for less than $100 and that includes a few extra things not associated with the brakes. The rest is unbelievable. I am also having trouble finding anyone other than THE shop to work on it. So no choice, "Me". The local Volvo dealer will not work on anything older than a 2001. I guess I am in a bit of a pickle! LOL

Trip odometer is working so it is likely the actual miles. You can confirm that. The only use I'd have for a '93 is the following: 1. Rear spoiler, nice. 2. Aluminum control arms. 3. If it's a manual, the manual parts. My guess would be that the vehicle needs service, be a nice donor vehicle.

Never reset the trip computer, it will likely break the odometer gear.

My guess is that the fuel pump died and there it sat...

Love that color!! Engine sounds beautiful and now looks great. I’m so glad I wasn’t at the auction site to see them forklifting my T5R last year.

@@volvoenthusiastsgroup3386 Thanks. On paper and carfax it had 86,000 miles but had a feeling with the trip at 0000 it was wrong. Luckily it had 118,000 miles. I used Clyde’s leather to touch up the leather seats and looks great now.

A dent in a door can salvage a title, see it ALL THE TIME. Insurance companies like to salvage vehicles so they can deny/reduce future claims. A lot of insurance companies won't put full coverage on a vehicle that has a salvaged title, that's why I don't let them salvage any of mine. A salvage title really doesn't matter on a vehicle older than 20 years unless it's a collector. It's all about condition and recent maintenance. Anyone who says otherwise is just being silly.

I learned the hard way that mileage doesn't matter when buying a Volvo, all the Volvos I've bought with higher mileage have driven better and have been more reliable 😂I had a 1996 854R with 82k on it that fell apart way more than a 1996 855 GLT with 236k on it, service history and general maintenance is really what matters the most, for any car really, mileage not so much.

Totally agree! I will always take a well maintained high mileage Volvo over an abused low mileage Volvo any day.

Card I interfere. If you add fresh water to the gasoline cooling circuit the car will start on the first try then wash it🎉 I love Volvo Alessandro from Roma

The previous owner looked after it, It's sitting on Michelin tyres and not cheap Chinese budget tyres!

👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Still have my 855 purchased new in 94. Took it by sea to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Germany. Red pearlescent with grey interior. Great, well engineered, reliable, and robust. Better than the restyled S&V70 Mk 1’s.

I like the 93's quite actually. The querky style of the bumpers, headlights and switches are funny to see but I think the models after the "alter 1" are much better designed on the later models from 1994 and later. That spoiler though looks really awesome! Try finding an Alter 1 855 estate one. They are getting more rare by the day I believe. It would be a big pity parting this one out for spares even thought it's a sedan. Fix it up and sell it to someone that wants to drive it and enjoy it!

Stop being such a drama queen. You knew the car is probably fine at the time you filmed this.
