I’m glad that things only nearly went wrong and that your voyage was ultimately successful

Always fantastic on seeing these types of videos. And neat, you get to see the real Wilbert. Fantastic job here. Keep up the great work and take care.

Watching Shieldhall docking I suddenly realised how manoeuverable modern vessels are. I also went on Waverley many many years ago from Ilfracombe to the Mumbles and back. I stood in that exact same position as you watching the engines.

Nice to see Calbourne out and about. Just think, she first ran down that line 99 years ago, and she was already over 30 years old back then!

great video I remember going doon the watter for the fair in the 1950's when i was a boy . The Waverley is a year younger than me and i last sailed on her in 2013 doon the watter to Rothesay and back-like you i am fascinated by steam engines although i do remember them in service

I remember seeing Waverley up at Lowestoft undergoing overhaul several years ago. We used to go shopping at Lidl, between the shop car park and the Waverley in drydock was the railway line to Lowestoft station, and the river, and used to think how similar its name was to Waveney, the name of the river that flows from Bressingham to Lowestoft. When my Dad was in the Navy, serving on HMS Fearless, mum and dad were based in married quarters in Portsmouth, my Nan and Late Grandad came down to see my mum of a bit of a holiday, and one day they went over to the Isle of White (I always think of Goodnight Sweetheart when the French Colonel called it the Isle of Wigget). They had never been there before, and went on a bus. Grandad gave the driver some money for the bus fair and thought he must have misheard the driver about the price and through it was very expensive on the Isle of White to travel by bus until my dads parents told him a few days later that the busses work on a no change (ie correct fair only) basis. I cant tell you any more than I have been told, I didn't put an appearance in for almost another year lol.

Wtf. By extreme coincidence the guy in the background at 8:00 is wearing the same brightly colored shirt that I am right now! Great video btw!

When you visit Australia next should ride the paddlesteamers on the River Murray they have shallow bases and are just as interesting as these engines

hey I wanted to mention that your helmet straps are way too loose, when theyre too loose the helmet can move out of the way or even fall off completely in a crash, obviously that defeats the purpose of wearing one. I hope this helps you be safe on your bike, I dont want anyone getting hurt.
