I won't buy these perfumes released in 2024. Here's why...

Hi, I have so many that I like but not enough to purchase. I just got into fragrances last year so I’ve become really obsessed with sniffing and trying out as many as possible. I’ve also spent a pretty penny this year with this new obsession. I’ve realized that I 1. Really need to try out fragrances and use up my sample before deciding if it’s full bottle worthy, 2. Need to try to NOT blind buy, as is has more often been a fail rather than a success, and 3. I don’t need to get every single one I love. There will always be thousands of perfumes at any given time for me to purchase when I am ready to spend the money.

You’ve got the important tenets down! I won’t let myself buy a full bottle unless the sample is completely finished , and I even recently ordered a second round of 5 samples I’d already finished to narrow down a sandalwood pick . You’re so right , with thousands of fragrances on the market at any given time , even the most successful blind buys for me are just ok and I never reach for them

The Nomade line is stunning especially Nomade Absolu. It's the fragrance that got me into collecting actually. It's so unique and beautiful. I now own every flanker except this new one. I will be getting it soon though. I love them all.

I think it's not necessarily about amassing the largest collection of fragrances, but being discerning and only adding those that resonate with oneself. I wore the same signature scent from 1981 when it was released until last year...and maintain a small stash, although I have NEVER been able to find a dupe of it. It has long been discontinued. My daughter encouraged me to save my stash and explore other fragrances and I began doing that November 2023. It didn't take long to identify and purchase scents that resonated with me, and I built up to about 85 fragrances initially. Not all are the "latest". Somewhere along the journey, I decided to visit fragrances that had been released over the years that I had not been able to try. My research also helped me identify the notes that I most enjoyed in fragrances...generally spices, citrus, woods, and incense. I enjoy florals used judiciously, but don't enjoy an overwhelming floral fragrance...they have to be balanced with other scent notes. I also don't like sicky-sweet or overly fruity fragrances. I'm pretty good at reading fragrance notes and knowing if something would be for me. For example, when I found out there had been more than one formulation of Miss Dior, the one that stood out to me was the 2017 version because of the blood orange notes. I tracked that down like a hounddog after prey...but finally ended up with 180 mls of it...and I DO love it, although the 1st one ounce bottle was a blind-buy. If I were to choose three words to describe fragrances that appeal to me, it would be sophisticated, elegant, and classy...at least that smell that way to me. Heaven knows I would never personally be described as cutesy or girly (I'm 5'11" and statuesque...very reminiscent of a Greek statue of Athena...and there's a story behind that that I'll spare you), so I'm not interested in fragrances that exude that sort of aura. Fragrances are so unique to each individual. Of the ones you presented, the only one that I've been intrigued by is Nuit D'Egypt, but I've not been able to find it at any fragrance counters at department stores or Ulta near me. I wouldn't say I'll never buy anymore fragrances, but I only add or replace ones that I really LOVE. Thus far in my backups, I've got a backup bottle of Babycat, Rifaaqat, and Black Opium Le Parfum. I have backups of Vanilla 28 and Choco Musk for layering, and a couple of backups of Xerjoff's Golden Dallah...one of the first fragrances I tried last fall. My collection is relatively diverse but it's centered around fragrance notes that I truly enjoy.

Very nice lipstick color. I love Mac's Marrakesh lipstick too! My other favorite color is Nars Gipsy - its more red but think it would look great on you.

The entire L'interdit line is worth owning IMO. I have owned and do own several of the flankers....I think all of them, actually, except this latest release but I will be getting it soon. They're all so beautiful.

Totally agree with your comments about Nomad. They're beautiful fragrances but something just stops me from purchasing. I've tested them in store and while they do smell delightful they're just not me!

My favorite designers of this year that I purchased where: Daisy Wild Chloe nuit d'egypte Valentino Green Stravaganza Scandal Absolu Angel fantasm Libre Flowers & Flames Givenchy Rose Velvet and L'interdit Absolu I also had purchased divine le parfum, but I declutterd her already, something in that scent did not work on skin

I just bought a 30ml of Daisy Wild yesterday as I found it for 30 euros and couldn't resist! I've smelt it in store and was keen on a travel spray, but the TS was the same price as the 30ml bottle! Bizarre.
