Just curious, are you guys good about getting dressed and "ready" everyday or do you prefer not to? I don't think there's a right answer. Thanks for watching!

I'm constantly afraid of ruining my nice clothes... So I generally wear sweats while at home, which is 95 percent of the time... So, I'm excited to watch this... And see what happens....

I also noticed I feel so much better when I'm dress but it's soooooo hard to actually commit to doing it. Your method of challenging yourself to a week was so so so inspiring bc I'm going to work towards giving myself a challenge to meet instead of boo hooing about not getting it done lol

I know this video is old, but I wanted to leave a comment anyway because this has been a really nice video for me. I was bedbound for two years, just living in pyjamas. I might change my pyjamas once a month because I couldn’t dress myself and I didn’t like asking for help. And now I’m starting to get better and I’m housebound and I asked my mum for some loungewear for my birthday and it is so so beautiful! It is green ribbed, a bit similar to something I’ve seen in one of your other videos, it’s really soft and it suits me I have green eyes and it’s just so refreshing to look in the mirror and see something nice. I was just wearing bobbly old jumpers with holes in because I felt like I couldn’t spend money on myself, because my children ‘deserved’ our money more. It was just so nice to treat myself, and even though it’s loungewear and not nice clothes, to me, it is a step up and it is something nicer than pyjamas. Thank you for your videos

My mum really taught me to get dressed everyday, dont leave the house in sweatpants/Leggings, enjoy your "nice" things whenever you feel like it because life consists of more ordinary days than special days. She taught me to Dress for ME not for others. All that was 15 years ago and it really Stuck with me. Except for when I am sick I get dressed from head to toe, do my hair, Put on perfume etc. It helps me to feel Put together while studying in the home Office:)

This was a good video. 👍🏻 I am a Mom of 4 homeschoolers, I also work from home and we have a farm. I started intentionally putting more effort into getting ready every morning. I noticed a HUGE difference in my mood. I definitely feel happier, and my husband makes more comments about how i look. Win win! I made a cute apron with big pockets to put on over my good clothes. I don't worry as much about getting them stained or ruined.

3:47 It doesn't sound as lame as you think but, I completely understand thinking so. I go through the same thing. When you find something that works well for you, you absolutely should celebrate it because we're not all the same and we need to be okay and allowed and give ourselves permission to be different and to do what works for us. Yes, there are societal norms and some things need to be done within a certain amount of consideration but, overall, I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to fit in and feel the same as those around us. You and I are not the same and have very different lives (Ironically, I lived in SoCal for a couple years, until my now-15 year old was 6 months old system of your b-roll really takes me back 😁) but I get a lot of inspiration and encouragement from your videos. Fun fact: when I'm stressed out and overwhelmed, I put on your videos because your voice and your tone and just your calm nature really help to relax me. Recently, when I have to take a nap during a time I don't want to (Lupus), I lay on the couch and turn on one of your videos and keep that going in the background. I always wake up feeling more calm and less anxious! That might sound a little bit creepy, now that I think of it. 🤣 Nothing like that. My point is simply that we all need to give ourselves permission to "sound lame" out loud and to celebrate the little things because it's the little things that bring us the most joy!

Love this! This was the motivation I needed. I realized that I did this after my son was born but after my second baby it became harder. As a stay at home, homeschool mom I realized that intentional effort into taking care of myself made me feel like I was still staying me while I fullfilled my roles as wife, mom, educator and homesteader. Thank you!

I consciously keep my 10 item wardrobe for going outside, among other people, because that is the main ‘why’ I have it. Leaving the house now is a joy and effortless, I no longer feel like an imposter. At home, I let my internal toddler dress me, which consists of (relatively) clean joggers, bleach tie dye shirts (which I did myself) and crocs. I don’t feel presentable, but I feel comfortable and very happy.

what keeps me from doing this is the fact that i then have to do laundry and potentially ruin my nice clothes. i don’t trust laundry machines. and there are so many things in daily life that could stain or damage my precious clothes. can you please talk me out of this mindset? nobody even sees me on a daily basis. im afraid of wasting my good clothes for just me to see in the mirror. and if i ruin that outfit then i won’t be able to wear it out to a party/gathering in the future. then nobody will know about my cool style. my style is very important to me

For me, I never let a thing, piece of clothing, stop me from experiencing life. When I wear out a piece of clothing I used it for what it’s supposed to be used for.

I get it...working from home with 2 big working breed dogs. It's easy to wear "ok around the dog" clothes and schlub around all day. I've been trying to regularly wear what I really like instead, being careful as I wear it, but just doing it. I know these clothes won't last forever, and I'd like to enjoy them while I can! So, good for you too!

YEEEEESSSSSS!! I get "dressed to shoes" everyday (unless it is a rest day) and it helps SO much!! I love wearing my nice clothes and it helps so much if something comes up and I need to go out! It is a great way to *signal to my brain* that "this is time to get stuff done" (I am a SAHM) and then when I change into pjs that "this is time to relax"!

I have an 8 month old starting to eat solid foods and I'm 13 weeks pregnant. I put together a pregnancy capsule in three parts for the three seasons I'll be pregnant...I have to be so mindful to get out of my joggers and sweatshirt when I'm home 90% of the time and feeling all the pregnancy symptoms. 😮‍💨 fortunately I gravitate toward all comfy (even if cute) clothes when I'm pregnant!

I always feel better about myself when I take the time to get dressed (not just workout clothes) and fix my hair and put make up on. I’m so much more productive and just feel better. But right now it’s chilly in TN, and I just want to wear warm, comfy, lazy clothes.

I’ve been trying to do this too! I spend most of my time at home, as well. But it’s so hard especially in the winter! Jeans just are not comfortable or warm enough for these cold midwestern winters. Thick leggings & fleece sweatpants are the key to survival 😉I definitely find it easier to wear “real” clothes in the summer 🌸

This is my first semester in college at age 27 years old. I decided I would go on campus rather then do online classes. For the reason I’ve been a SAHM for 4 years. I stopped getting dress and would literally stay in my bed clothes all day long. Now by me going to school I have to get dress, which is making me mentally feel better about myself.

Girl, that first aqua green dress is your color! You looked great this week! I love how you were bolder with talking to people from this experiment. I work at a farm in the mornings, shower, nap, and then pick kids up at school. As a SAHM to three kids 5 and under I have been looking for things to fill my cup and provide me some more fulfilment recently. As part of this I think I will experiment with this clothing challenge for a week and see how I go…may involve hiding my leggings from myself first 😂 Before starting it my main challenge is my mindset - I am a tall woman (6’1”) so my first thought is am I going have enough to wear on my bottom half. It is winter here in Australia and it is actually possible that I only have one pair of long pants that are not leggings 😬

I use the ticket that all of my nice clothes are as comfy as my house clothes. I hate thight pants (for thight i also mean like i can't fully move my legs even if they are palazzo pants or if they are too thight on a part of my body only like on the pelvis and hips zone) so I don't have thight jeans or pants, i only own nice sweatpants (3) and really loose jeans (5), I own 1 pair of good leggings that are still comfortable on my skin that I use for dance practice (like 2 of my sweatpants) and as a nice piece. As loungewear i have my shorts (4, none of them is jeans or hard tissue ) or my joggers (3) that I also use in the summer as kind of outerwear since they look pretty nice and "fashion" (ex air Jordan joggers). I can still feel good and at my top while feeling comfortable and able to move and play with my body, that for me is extremely important even tho im 17. I want to be able to climb trees or play at the playground monkeybars when I hangout with my friends, kind of a stim lol.
