All this got out because by sheer dumb luck (and Niji's plain incompetence), Michi managed to avoid signing an NDA and the company 1. Sent to the wrong address. 2. Never sent a new contract to the new address despite Michi telling them to 3. Never made sure to have her sign the contract IN HER WHOLE TIME WITH THE COMPANY 4. No one in the company NOTICED THIS HUGE OVERSIGHT UNTIL MICHI DECIDED TO POINT IT OUT This isn't a comedy of errors. This is a syndicated sitcom of errors on reruns. All the screw ups of the most basic things an agency should do makes more sense now. And we've seen the contract THEY'RE NOT EVEN OBLIGATED TO DO THAT MUCH. Wtf is is even the point of this company!? Technically a lot of them can talk freely because the NDA is null and void in a few places due to Nijisanji not following local laws for contract signage. Hint: If the people issuing you a contract don't follow YOUR local laws and you remain a resident/citizen of that location for the entirety of the contract's duration, it's very often void (though you can get in trouble if you KNOW it's void and sign anyway since that's bad faith) Sayu for example is in California which is the reason she can talk about her experiences as much as she has without repercussions: CA law is VERY in favor of the talents when it comes to entertainment business contracts due to the fact...well...their governor was freakin' Arnold Schwarzeneggar at one point and Ronald Reagan, a famous actor, went on to be president.

Its honestly more to do with California law. You need a lawyer to be present as witness that you both understand the terms and agree to them upon signing so there won't be a suit later on saying, the talent was tricked or coerced. Niji does not follow such laws. So they do this to their advantage and bully and intimidate talents. Often times using made up aspects of the contract that aren't even on the contract because they know the talent would not have the contract to check. And obviously won't give a copy when asked. They know how much they make and how much a lawyer costs for them to force Niji to comply.

IIRC, there was a guy who made the 3D engine for a game Konami was making (IIRC, it was Silent Hill) wouldn't teach anyone how he fixed their 3D and would even sleep in the office to make sure no one would analyze his code, because he knew he let them know too soon, he'd be replaced immediately because, at the time, he was one of the newest members. And if memory serves, he eventually managed to force them to sign a contract that was favorable to him, but not overly so as he knew they'd fire him and look for someone else if he went overboard with his demands. The thing about being "replaceable" is true for American companies as well, save for them telling you straight out. In my experience, you're "part of a family" when you're doing well. But when you run afoul of the higher-ups, you're suddenly "replaceable" and all the pretense of "family" falls by the wayside. Fortunately for me, I didn't have to learn this as firsthand experience. You'd be surprised what "secrets" people will let slip around the maintenance staff. That aside, that bit about Vshojo forcing Michi to get a lawyer to review her contract before they would accept it is pretty interesting. Even if it's all performative (which doesn't seem to be the case), it gives a good impression of the company that they want any potential hires to have their own legal representative look over their contracts before they get signed on.

I remember a webnovel basic contract where you give them your everything and they only pay you a set amount + bonus for the first few months, as long as you keep to the wordcount required. After that if you want any money you need to post the minimum wordcount every month, and you earn any bonus after reduction. Which is fine i guess, you dont want to be paying someone who isnt doing what they were supposed to be doing. Downside is you literally give them all your rights to the novel you are writing, so they can in theory kick you out or force you to stop writing, and replace you with someone else. Most would still sign the contract however. Money is money.
