There are so many scenes from Stranger Things, when she closes the gate at the end of season 2, for example. When she realises that Joyce will be there for her at the buoyancy bath near the end of season 1, the epic fight at the end of season 4, with the emotional strain trying to save Max from Vecna,... plus literally many more. And in Dasel, that BA scene at the end of the movie, with her walking away from the destruction of that evil royal family with the Dragon flying above her. But one scene which no one remembers was from Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, where she was a test for Alice to pass, playing both a good and evil version of young Alice, I knew that she was a really good actress, with great potential ahead of her.

I think people strongly under estimate the importance of the scene where your character is getting electrocuted. We see..empathy with Henry. Even if he doesn’t really “care” or feel pity, he is disturbed by seeing this teenage boy be horrifically electrocuted. Even if it’s just “oh I know what that’s like, this is triggering some sort of ptsd for me”..that’s still in a way empathy. Which maybe..maybe could be tapped into later in series… he was but a human after all.

Wow in a world where drama sells, it is so refreshing to hear someone talk good things about someone else. Happy to hear you had a good experience with her ❤
@stephenHolloway88Ай бұрын
It's so refreshing to see someone say something nice and positive about her. Social media is beyond toxic and all you ever see on there is people attacking her for her behaviour, the things that she says or her mannerisms. They'll attack her for pretty much anything. I don't understand it and we're all sick of seeing it, I don't know why people are so vicious these days. It's completely unnecessary especially when we don't know the person. It's like people forget that actors are humans too.
@OzmaOfOzz2 күн бұрын
She gets slammed because she doesn't allow her cast mates to talk in interviews, she's always interrupting and has this "main character" energy and yes she sort of is a main character in the series but it's just disrespectful to interup your colleagues when they talk like not everything is about you 🙄

I've met Millie Bobby Brown twice (once in 2019 and once in 2023 at two Fan Cons). She couldn't have been nicer to me and was a delight to meet. I've heard stories both good and bad about Millie, but your video proves one thing, and it's that Millie is a human like all of us, and as far as humans go, Millie is pretty chill. People can Love or hate Millie, but she's growing up in the spotlight and doing her damn best. We all aren't for everyone, so it's very admirable that Millie is being true to herself no matter what.
@dante6985Ай бұрын
I think it's probably one of those things, like a fan or co-worker had one negative experience and it was blown way out of proportion. I've only ever heard nice, professional things about her from industry insiders.
@empty_akuma6577Ай бұрын
Remembering and addressing all of the actors', extras' and staff members' names really shows what a character someone is, imo. I've also heard this about Jensen Ackles, who is also said to be a genuinely nice and kind guy and pleasure to work with. That Millie shows the same respect to the people she works with indicates that she's a very decent person.

You are the problem if you believe anything someone say. Now shes not that rude, than she will be so rude

I think the main reason ppl ran with her being rude is mainly because there was a lot of hate she was getting for being "annoying" or "too chatty" during interviews and stuff and it seemed like her cast members were annoyed with her too but in reality they are much more lax than she is which is why it seems like she was doing too much while they were more laid back

I feel like sometimes people forget that MOST people on working sets.. are just regular people. Yes, there will always be yes men/women, and there will always be spoiled brat actors. But MOST the time on set… everyone just feels normal. They’re coworkers. Everyone’s there for the same job, essentially. Whether you’re a boom operator, a PA, the director, main cast, background actor, stand in, stunt performer, prop master, or work craft services. I think most people tend to be taken aback by how normal actors are. Nine times out of ten (okay maybe more like 8 out of 10 lol) they’re just pretty typical, normal people who are at work. This is such the norm in fact that those spoiled pretentious Hollywood types almost always get a bad reputation on the inside and publicly. No one wants to work with them, or like them. They get left out of the fold. Everyone else lets them go pretend they’re super important, while the rest of the cast and crew go out to dinner or make emergency trips to Disney world (something walking dead actors did lol), or have movie night, or are just chilling on set together goofing off. You’re always going to run into those handful of actors if you work on sets. But the MAJORITY of people on sets are just normal people and actors would feel reeeeeeeal awkward if they were somehow treated wholly different, almost as if they’re a prop or something. It wouldnt be a good or conducive working environment to act like you’re better than everyone else, and most people understand that from the jump when on a working set, whether it’s their first project or they’re an international icon. How miserable would it be to work on a set where you can’t, don’t, or won’t get close to anyone who you don’t perceive as “on your level”…? It just rarely happens honestly.

I never heard about a series that’s awesome I’ll keep that in the back pocket. I also love how you can lower your own stakes on set by thinking you’re increasingly improving rather than hitting it out of the park first take. Give yourself the reasonable time you need. Getting your body in the right "state" before starting and the "series" thing are such useful tricks to know. I wish they taught us these things in acting/drama school (spoiler alert: they didn't, but we did do a lot of yoga and wandering around the room "experimenting" all the letters of the alphabet 🤦♀🙄 )

Not an actor, DP here! Just a heads up on series slates, as an actor you can ask for them, but please try not to over do this, it does add to a DiTs job at the end of the day and makes records of which take is which slightly more complex, but outside of that, when shooting on film, 16mm or 35mm, you’ll only have approximately 10 minutes to actually do your take, and if you’re on an indie that doesn’t have much stock, don’t be surprised if the dp or director don’t let you do a series. Always ask if you need something though! Any HoD that is good at their job will try and help actors get the best performance possible, even if you ask for something that seems like a major change from the current structure of a scene, if you explain why you need something to all parties involved, and assuming it’s possible, crew will make it happen. That might mean doing a lighting change, changing the camera position ext. as long as you don’t go into it saying “no I won’t do this if I don’t get xyz” and it’s more of a conversation, asking for something will only grow your reputation, as cast and crew will see that you’re trying to make your performance the best it can be, even if what you asked for ends up not being possible
@TristanSpohnAKASpiderman2 ай бұрын
I love this perspective and thank you so much for sharing this! Yes, I would definitely only ask for the series on like a pivotal breakdown the character needs to have. I love that you mentioned to treat it like a conversation not a demand. I appreciate you for watching my video!

Yeah. This are important lessons. =ART 1. Use PHYSICALIZATION as the "moment before". =WORK 2. For your CONCENTRATION, you could film scene back-to-back! It will maintain full immersion and energy level required. 3. REPUTATION is your biggest asset. Have a profoundly positive and professional working ethic. Be kind, humble and joke, don't take anything in a rigid, hierarchical way. One thing I love to do too is to rember the other persons name. This is one of the biggest "small things" to do. This could be applied in ANY work and its environment. 4. Be aware of what are the instruments that most TRIGGER you as an actor, and ASK for be. It could be "I have to isolate myself", "I have to drink water", and really ANYTHING that YOU KNOW help you to work at the best.

These are things audiences don’t think about, and when one of your favorite actors isn’t cast as much as you would like, it might because they don’t follow roles like these. Also it’s why they cast the same actors instead of taking a chance on new actors because it’s hard to know what you’re getting sometimes when you hire and script and if Scarlet Johansson has proved herself as a qualified, easy to work with actor, then it’s less risk they have to think about.

I've always felt that being in a production of any kind was an all-for-one experience. The small exception is that the director gets the credit but also gets the blame. Still, when you're there it's a group effort. I would imagine that in some cases it's not that and for those it must be kind of miserable on set and probably translates to being not much of a success in the end. On the "series" or ramping things up, I was probably doing the same thing without knowing it when I was in that small film where I played a bad guy. I remember thinking of a behind the scenes doc that Stanley Kubrick's daughter did on The Shining and watching Jack Nicholson doing the same kind of thing you described. So, I did the same thing Nicholson did for The Shining on our, set going through the scenes over and over and building it up. I worried that I might be taking it too far but I figured the director would tell me if that was the case. Anyway, this was a great video! Thanks!
