Probably the reason more people don’t have these in their cabinets is because we’re not all stinking rich and can waste £1000 on a toy that’ll get used twice a year 🤪

Hey David, I bought the Huglu (CZ HAMMER CLASSIC) about 1.5 years ago, it came equipped with a Metal butt plate. I put on a Pachmayr SC100 pad instead of the metal plate to make recoil manageable. This gun was manufactured with awful trigger pulls (8-9lbs); I sent it back to CZ and they fixed the problem, now EACH trigger breaks at 4lbs. My gun had grade 2-3 furniture with a urethane finish; I had it stripped and an oil finish applied instead…….the new finish revealed the figuring of my stock and forend. One more item of interest is all of the receiver and hardware are CCH (color case hardened) which is very handsome indeed! All in all, it is fun to shoot and the quality of materials and workmanship (excellent) does not reflect in the price point here in the U.S.; $1,100 USD! Michael P

Lovely little gun that I’d consider buying. We don’t see enough Huglus in the UK. That said, I’m so glad you no longer try to charge viewers for subscriptions. Your video editing/production is way behind others. Consider hiring a media student who wants the experience and has all the right equipment. It’s a win-win.

Shotgun technology has evolved and advanced can't see why you would want to move backwards, if you want an old hammer gun then just buy an old hammer gun

I think this is more aimed at the US market rather the Europe and the UK. The USA has clay grounds and competitions which cater for this type of gun/shooting. Unlike Europe and the UK. Likewise Game Shooting in the USA is primarily ‘walked up’, (like Europe), which is better suited to this style of gun. Although I would have thought the Huglu a “bit heavy”, in this regard. As for the UK as has already been commented “just buy a second hand English Hemmer gun. Probably for half the price.

Bought one of these a couple of years ago (Somerset, UK). Saw them advertised before but not having heard of Huglu put me off. Finding out they are a manufacturer branded Cz and watching US reviews changed my mind, so when I found one second hand, I bought it. Mine is slightly different to this one, having a metal butt plate and much plainer wood and is colour case hardened. Quality wise it's no Purdey, but so far it has gone bang every time I remember which trigger to pull, and it breaks clays and kills pheasants just fine if I point it in the right direction. It's great fun to shoot with, and having hammers to worry about gives me another excuse when I don't hit as much as I ought to.😂

Probably fun for one round but I wouldn't want to sink my hard earned into it, depreciation i guess is high IF you can sell it.

Huglu makes the CZ Shotguns that are sold in the US. CZ has a Hammer Classic and a Hammer Coach. I want to buy one. I have a 20 gauge CZ Teal O/U. It’s a great gun for the money as well..

Huğlu is one of the oldest producers in Türkiye and their quality is satisfactory. But I am not sure to buy a fun gun.

Don't think I could buy walking in on a grouse with cocked hammer and waiting until a flush would be impossible

Fun vs what? Hunting or competition?

Save your money and buy a used hammergun if you really want one! There's plenty about if you care to look, for little money. They don't need to be English. I have my father's Belgian 12 bore hammer, with 65 mm chambers and 27 inch barrels bored improved and half choke. He used no other type of gun and shot regularly with it. Walking up or rough shooting with the right cartridge, it is as deadly as any.

Very dangerous on a cold day if the hammers slip whilst your pulling them back.

Have you never heard of muzzle control?
@MartShootsКүн бұрын
The hammers are rebounding and it has a safety switch to go along with safe muzzle position
