@@KeithGreene-wu7bu I maybe just don't understand why people want to trade a player that have success for hopes. Look the trade Barron-Carrier, we trade hope in Barron to have a real NHL player now, this is what we need to do. Trading an NHL player for hopes is for me the most stupid move to do. Yes we rebuild but I think we are in a good spot to turn the corner and stop making move for hopes, we have already a lot of young good players, a long list of draft pick for this summer. So we have enough invested in hopes, its time for NHL wins! My point. We have a good NHL team now, why broke this now for more hopes, because we win???

Thank you Sean! I cannot understand the trade Evans side. It's not like he's this phenomenal player we can't live without. It's loosing another center we can't afford. We don't even have the minimum required of 4 centermen as it is. Dvo is not coming back. And we should trade another one?? This is my question for the pro-trade crowd: who go we replace him with?? Going into next season with 3 rookie centermen with no nhl experience would be catastrophic. This is the same issue that has plagued us for 25 years. When you are missing players at a key positions like C, you must sometimes overpay to fix the problem.

It’s not really about what he’s worth, but about how much cap space you can afford to allocate to your 4th line. Can you be a cup contender with $4 million tied up in a 4th line centre? Add Armia at $3.3 million and you’re at $7.3 million for 2/3 of a 4th line. Even if your fill the 3rd spot with an NHL min contract, you’re over $8 million spent on your 4th line.

We developed Evans very well. Many experts were writing him off along with Armia as well. Anderson was a bust according to some award winning authors & sports writers throughout! The landscape has changed. Laine, Hutson, Heinemen, Carrier & Dobes have made this team very competitive! Plus the injuries have been limited for once because the last few years, it has been a disaster! The internal competition is healthy for an organization. Our depth chart has been the best since the days of Sam Pollock ! Everything will depend on how the team performs till the trade deadline. The goal is to continue the process while making the playoffs. Nobody will want to meet a team that has nothing to lose should we get there! Remember we let go Danault, Chiarot, Edmundson, Lekky and lost Price & Weber to career ending injuries! Huge losses indeed not to forget Monahan who signed with Columbus. I sense Reinbacher can easily replace Savard as he has really slowed down. The game is very fast now & Reinbacher has elite skating skills. Carrier fits in because he skates very well just like Hutson despite their size. Keep the team as is & worry about it later on. Hugo will only make a move if he is forced to now. No point getting hyped about the future if the team right now is doing well. Beck has potential but nothing is guaranteed. Getting to the NHL is hard but staying there is even harder. Enjoy the moments

Management should sign Evans to a comparable 3C or 4C contract. Or if some team pays up BIG to get him, trade away. @@shaunstarr We might be closer than people realize. We all realize that Demidov is the type of player who will likely win rookie of the year and who could be putting up 90 points year 2 and it would surprise nobody. He’s not your typical prospect. You have a legit ppg number 1 centre entering his prime. Two guys who have the ability to score 40+ goal in Caufield and Laine. A good bottom 6. Lane is a year or two away from cementing himself as a superstar but is already playing like a star. Guhle Carrier are one of the better shutdown pairings in the league. While having the best prospect pool in the league or close. The biggest question is at 2c but you could easily go acquire that with all the assets we have if you want. Add a couple more useful vets. The playoffs are unlikely this year but not impossible. We could make the playoffs next season and takeoff. We’re young but so was NJ.
@AlvinWazHere23 күн бұрын
I mean you have to think of it this way. We have to sign Hutson, Demidov, Laine etc…. eventually. Gallagher’s contract and Anderson’s will clog that cap. Is signing Evans for 3-4mill worth it. You can get a 3/4th liner defensive center for 1 mill. And for the young bucks in the system they are knocking the door for a spot. Kapanen, Beck, Hage and who knows who we draft this year. And based on Hughes and Gorton we arent there yet. No point of locking up Evans. After 1 Good season, this is the only season where he is popping off. And lets not forget about his Concussion injuries. Id rather call a young center up as he develops in the big league than keeping Evans and stress about Cap Space when we have to lockup young studs.
