Then "How to Line a Slab Mold for Soap" came into my feed, so I went to your channel and looked for more videos and saw the unboxing and book reveal. I'm sad that there are no soaps to purchase but I did buy 10 recipes instead. Lol I have always loved the natural ingredients. I've done a ton of research on soaps and last year I made 3 batches of soaps, all using heat transfer method but after wathing your "let's talk about lye" video I really want to give it a try and get back into soaping as a hobby. I've also purchased the book and can't wait for it to arrive today and read it.

Haha! Thanks for purchasing our recipes! We are having a soap release on Nov 15 at 9am mountain time, so hopefully you can catch that one. The heat transfer method is a fun one, that I've actually never tried! Need to do that one day, as I've always been fascinated by it. However, I do think that for large batch production, 50/50 lye is a game changer. I hope you get back to it! Happy soaping!

Well i have now received the ebook version via Booktopia here in Aus and have spent the last hour plus reading through it, currently up to Chapter 8. Wow it is the best book i have purchased and i have a few. I cant wait for my hard copy to arrive. You considered the organisation of information so well, it flows beautifully. It is easy to read and the photos add to the experience. To include so many recipes of different level of difficulty was wonderful bonus. Congratulations i think you have a best seller on your hands. It would make a super gift for anyone considering making soap or someone who has started but needs a little inspiration/advice. And finally the price is very fair and affordable. What an amazing book. Just letting Australian viewers and potential buyers know, it is available for preorder at a 25% discount on Amazon Australia as of July 12th 2024. The book will not be available in Australia until Oct 2024. Also with a 30 day Prime trial (which can be cancelled) it will be freight free. So it is very reasonably priced and looks amazing. I have pre-ordered mine and cannot wait for it to arrive. Just wondering if the salt recipe offer for pre orders in other countries with a later release date, might still apply to those customers?

Ooo!! Thank you for this awesome information!! I hope you love the book! Unfortunately, the sea salt recipe was only for preorders by May 27th (it has been available for pre-orders internationally for quite a while). The reason is that it was an incentive to get pre-order numbers up, as this helps bring more excitement for the book on release day. We do have the recipe available online though, if you're interested, and the book does contain a version of the sea salt recipe on page 144. Thanks!

We started with single drums of either olive and/or coconut from the same place. I hope this helps and thanks again!

Hi My daughter bought this book I enjoyed it , I read about 50/50 lye but I use citric acid so how do use it with 50/50 as we need to add extra lye . Would please explain on it .

Hi there! I don’t use citric acid, but from what I understand you typically add it to the lye water and it uses up some of the lye to convert to sodium citrate. I’m assuming that you are adding more lye to take this into account? If so, I’m thinking that as long as you know what total lye amount you need, you can still use a 50/50 lye water solution and pour out what’s needed. Then you can add your citric acid to the 50/50 lye water solution and any additional water that you need either to your oils or to the lye solution. Let me know if that makes sense or if I’m missing something. Again, I haven’t used citric acid, so this is all just theoretical knowledge! :)

You might be able to! Or, you might need to have it shipped there. I know Blackwells has it available and they ship to a lot of locations. Many people also just bought the book on Amazon and have gotten it shipped. Check your local bookstores first though to see if they have it in stock! :)

Hi Melody! The recipes are different. The ones online are soaps we have made throughout the years for our customers, including recipes from our main product line. The ones in the book are brand new recipes, although some are inspired by all the soaps we’ve made over the years. The book recipes are intended to be simpler and more progressive for beginners. Hi there! The recipes on our website are for the soaps we made and sold through Muddy Mint. They are well-tested and well-loved and we've sold thousands of bars to customers and wholesale. So, they are proprietary recipes that we decided to release after we closed down, hence the cost. The recipes in the book are brand new recipes that were created especially for the book (but, inspired by our main line of soaps). I hope this helps! And, yes, they almost all contain olive oil and cocoa butter. We have a video coming up on that next (the high cost of oils and what to do about it)!
