Apparently, the Spjrt Guardians prioritized the safety of the citizens first, rather than focusing on fighting the Dark Disciples. Pretty much the same case as William. Although, they will get their "subtle" redemption in the next arc.

Also, none of them are shown to be good fighters except for Gaja. Yes, they are powerful, but they’re not really warriors, their kingdom is very peaceful after all. Gaja is the exception, because of his desire to protect the Queen.

@@marc-ericleblanc-seguin4514 Yeah, they really lack battle tactics and experience. But, they were proven to be super strong in the manga, I dont know if you have read it, but they have shown impressive feats even if it is offscreen.

@@af3785 I wouldn’t call them super strong, they are only as strong as the stronger Dark Disciples, and that’s only because they can now use true magic, otherwise they’d be below the Dark Disciples. The Dark Disciples might proudly claim that they’re stage 0, but I find that claim dubious, I think it’s more accurate that they’re stage 1 mages who became stage 0 after having been given devil power, not before. The Spirit Guardians are also a bit too weak to be proper stage 0 mages, except for Gaja, it seems that they can only use a single attack spell each. Their attack spells are powerful, but also very simple when compared to other stage 0 mages, and even many lower stage mages, this is why many stage 1 mages could likely defeat the Spirit Guardians (except Gaja). Simply put, the Spirit Guardians (except Gaja) lack battle experience and versatility, they just keep spamming the same spell over and over again, expecting it to work, and when it doesn’t they don’t have other options, and they just get defeated. Their true magic spells are practically indistinguishable from their regular magic spells. The main reason why they managed to “redeem” themselves is because of the opponents they were fighting, not only because they surpassed their limits. I know I’m sounding a bit harsh, but I’m really not blaming the Spirit Guardians for their own underwhelming fighting abilities, it’s because of the peaceful environment they grew up in.

There is the biggest hint that is given to us concerning the connection between Grey and Gauche and that is Grey's Grimoire. Basically on the Cover is the very mirror that Gauche uses as his main mirror all the time.

@@samsaumaralikhan his powers are obviously lightning based and there's a lightning bolt on the spine of his grimoire. BUT On the back cover, are blackberry vines. Now, the fan theory is that Luck is Charlotte's illegitimate younger brother. Back in the Elf Reincarnation arc, Charla, the elf that possessed Charlotte, said her one regret was that she didn't get to see her younger brother again. And in Rhya's flashbacks we see Charla with a young boy who looks like Rufel, the elf who possessed Luck. We know that elves who are siblings reincarnated into humans who were siblings, like Droit and Eclat did in Gauche and Marie. So it makes sense that Charla's brother would have reincarnated into Charlotte's brother, but as far as we know, she doesn't have one. We know Luck's mother was a single mom, no mention is ever made of his father, and he has higher than normal power levels for a commoner. The theory is that Luck's mom was probably a servant in House Roselei who had an affair with Charlotte's father and was kicked out when she got pregnant. This explains her distaste for nobles and how glad she was that Luck was able to beat them with his powers. Luck and Charlotte also both have blonde hair and blue eyes. But the biggest clue is the grimoire. Because Luck's powers have nothing to do with plants, there's no logical reason for his grimoire to have blackberry vines on the back cover. Until you realize that blackberries, botanically speaking, are a member of the Rose family.

Yeah, It makes sense with William being captured looking back as he has world tree magic. Which is a reference to the world tree in Norse mythology where the world tree is a gate way to other realms. In Black Clover the underworld would be consider another realm. Norse mythology is one of the main myths and inspirations for Black Clover. I've always liked how they made these subtle references. As well with Yami having Dark magic it can be the catalyst that meets the condition to open up the underworld as perhaps Dark magic true origins might come from the underworld.

The twist just gets better and better

@@BengFT12 spoiler My point exactly. It’s transmutation magic, but even though we know that we don’t specifically know all it entails. Compared, to, say, Noelle’s Saint Stage Spirit Dive with Undine, or the fact that Yuno now carries two different grimoires with two different kinds of magic - the original 4 leaf clover grimoire for the wind magic related to the elf within him, and the “new” Spade grimoire for his Star magic that he inherited from his Grinberryall family. What I’m saying is Grey has transmutation magic, but we don’t know all that it entails, outside of the fact she can disguise herself as anyone she wants to, change the properties of the magic of those around her (which we actually learned about even before we knew it was transmutation magic, back during the Elf Reincarnation arc), or “healing” critical injuries as if they had never even occurred in the first place.
